extemely hot sauces, what's the purpose? I know a couple on here that put it on their popcorn. I don't like having to sweat and drink an entire liter of diet dr. pepper when i'm eating. mild is the way to go. =)
I gotta agree with you. I put Cholula on EVERYTHING. It has a hint of a garlicky taste that I love. Sriracha sauce is sweeter, but hotter in my opinion. It goes best on Chinese food or vegetables...I'm known to steam up some broccoli and cauliflower and douse it in Sriracha. Yum...
depending on what flavor profile i'm shooting for, it's either: cholula sriracha franks red hot if i want something really, really spicy i'll just grab whatever salsita my mom or sister makes, or just cut up some fresh (or grilled) jalapenos or serranos.
Variety is the spice of life. The poster who mentioned the garlic taste that accompanies Cholula is dead on. It's tops on my restaurant list. My house has Cholula, Frank's, Louisiana, and Sriracha. Depending on what I'm eating and what flavor I'm attempting to achieve I'll use a different one. Cholula is small step above mild but has good flavor to it. Tatsts like a garlic/spice combination. I think it goes good on pizza personally. Frank's is more like hot wing flavor. I use it when the wife makes certain comfort style chicken meals or we have mac and cheese as a side. We also have a habenero based sauce that one of our family members gave me at a family reunion. I haven't been able to find it anywhere else.
Red Rooster! The best hot sauce is the kind you buy in Mexico on the streets. Usually they are in old small jars. You can see pieces of the labels still stuck on the jars from where they were peeled off. No name on the jar its just pure goodness.
I'm going to have to try this stuff if I can ever find it up here. I have seen it suggested more than once on this board.
oh yea...well I keep it at work in case I'm thirsty, beat that! I used to put this stuff on almost everything, but have kind've gotten away from it... I bought some Texas Pete when I moved into my house...because at the time I thought it would be funny...since my name is Pete, wanna fight about it? it's alright, on par with louisiana hot sauce...it's no cholula though
