These are highlight clips of Ricky Williams in his 2002 season. After watching these, it reminded me how much he reminds of Campbell.
He was my projected project in my Fantasy Football league and someone else snapped him up right before I could. I hope he does well.
Anyone who can take a year off to smoke weed and then come back and still look good is alright to me.
I was a fan until I discovered he defended SMOKING POT. Even as I say that, I hope he does well, as I also like giving peeps a second chance at doing better.
It's ridiculous that he gets so much crap, or any athlete for that matter, over smoking weed. I'm not a RW fan really, I just hate how villified he is over it.
Do you think Joe Montana, Warren Moon, Jim Kelly, Jerry Rice, Darrell Green and Steve Young smoked weed to get to where they were? What are you saying, really... that he needs it?
No, I just don't see how it matters one way or the other. Smoking weed is no different than drinking and most likely not as dangerous. He definitely isn't getting any kind of performance enhancement from doing it. I understand testing for other more dangerous recreational drugs and I absolutely understand testing for steriods. Testing for weed is stupid though.
I know thats his reason for drug dependency. It is not a solution though and will just make it worse. I hope he gets help for the root cause.
many like to bash ricky for that smoking issue. But had ricky played during the 60's,everyone from stokely carmichael to che, would own a ricky williams poster. He would be a cultural Icon. Ricky's biggest problem is that he was born in the wrong decade. For Bill parcells to embrace him the way he has, that says a lot about ricky. 1,494 yards and 12 tds for ricky. He will run for -6 yards in the game against the texans though.
ricky's biggest problem is his kids he doesn't support. i have no problem with his pot use either, he does have some paternity issues however.
do you have a source for that? How do you know he isn't paying the child support? http://nbcsports.msnbc.com/id/12889464/site/21683474/page/2/
you're right, he is paying apparently, you're right for calling me on that. i didn't remember the situation correctly
If he comes back strong I think he is on to something. This is a guy that carried the ball 40 times in a game (right?). RBs at his age with that number of carries with that body type and run style, they should be washed up by now. Maybe we will see more running backs take a 1-2yr break to prolong their career. Well no we wont see that. But it might work.
