I have an older version called CCNA Exam 640-507 Guide by Wendell Odom. It has some good info in it, even though some of it is a little outdated. I am not really taking the exam but reading it because of openings at work that our Tech Director is trying to slide me into. Thus I can't say how much it cost because I actually borrowed it from him.
have not done alot of Torrent downloading etc ok . . .i won't lie. . i did not do any Something i need to learn i guess Rocket River
well about 4 or 5 years ago it was sybex who had the best ccna book. You can also do ccna boot camps to get hands on experience or just buy cheap routers on ebay to get used to the Cisco IOS.
I don't have a specific suggestion, but Google 'brain dumps' and you should be able to get an idea of what questions are on the test. And please let us know how you did, how difficult you felt it was, etc. I'm interested in taking this test in the future.
A certification exam is like taking any other test. If you dont want to spend alot of money a used CCNA prep book (I recommend Sybex) from amazon.com is a great place to start. Read the book cover to cover a few times and try to find yourself a good virtual lab or someone who let you use theirs. I think its best if you actually schedule your test date so you work towards a date or else you end up postponing for years. 1. Schedule a test date 4 or 5 months ahead. 2. Read a CCNA prep w/ virtual labs if available 3. Take as many practice tests as you can find (online, through friends) 4. If you really want you can also look for brain dumps but I have never used it and passed just fine. CCNA is not that tough and a good book and discipline will get you through it. But to be on the safe side you should be rocking the practice tests before you actually go in. Good Luck.
