Is it frustrating to anyone else playing with the Texans?

How is it that they're one of the lowest rated teams in the game? We were injury riddled last season and still went 8-8. Most of our losses were in division. Plus we're a team all experts say are on the rise. I'm perplexed.

The gave all the NFC East teams around 90 or better. The AFC South had a better overall record and play in the AFC.

I swear its next to impossible to get anything done playing with my team. Don't these guys watch the NFL?

So for those of you that have it, are there any tips to help play better since I'm going to be at a disadvantage at least until next year's addition? And no I don't want to play with another team.

Takes a while to turn around national perception.

The Texans only have a few recognizable star players (Williams, Ryans on defense, Johnson on offense) most of the rest of them are nobodys.

Face it, their secondary is full of nobodies, the offensive line is full of nobodies, the RB's are has-beens and nobodies.

There are no super skill position players littered all over the roster like on the Redskins, but their records are near the same...

so who knows? If the Texans start to stand out this season I'm sure you'll see a lot of the lesser known guys get ratings boosts.

Um...who are the super skill players on the Redskins? What offensive line isn't full of nobodies?

Im just hoping we get off to a good start so that when the ratings are updated, the Texans will see some improvements across the board.

I agree. Outside of Jason Taylor, Clinton Portis and maybe Santonio Moss, who is there?

I'm not saying they won't be good, but they aren't exactly spilling over with Pro-Bowlers.

Hopefully, the Texans won't be anywhere near what their Madden counterparts are.

Is it just me or has the Franchise mode gotten worse? I think it was at its best when it introduce that storyline feature back in 05-06?. And your team would actually progress.
I havent bought Madden in a few years, but I was pretty dissapointed. They are still going to have the players walking through walls and other people? I honestly dont even think the game has improved. Even the hitstick used to be better. Playmaker.
The game is just weak now. I dont think Im gonna buy it again.

Yeah, but the NFC East had the Super Bowl Champion and the team with (Cowboys) with the best NFC record at 13-3. That's why.

Texans never will be rated as anything decent until we break into the playoffs. Until then the developers who do the stats really dont give a left nut about anyone on our team besides Andre/Mario/Dunta/Demeco and just give them average default ratingss

I'm looking at the Redskins ratings and the have 4 WRs rated over 80 (Moss 87, Randle-El 83, the rookies Thomas and Kelly 80) Portis is 91 and his backup Betts is 84. Their Offensive line is stacked at 96,92,90,86,84.

They have Jason Taylor 98 and Andre Carter 88 at DE. Decent LB ratings.

Their secondary ratings are pretty ridiculous. They have 4 players rated 88 or higher (All 3 CBs, Rogers, Smoot, and Spring... and LaRon Landry is 93)

So you can see what making the playoffs will get you.

Madden ratings are basically made as if someone watched one episode of sportscenter and then decided to rank the teams based on Stuart Scott's opinion.

He's so good that I had to draft him with the first pick when I fantasy drafted with the Texans...

In the past it was hard to get sacks without moving your DE, but it's a little easier...Got 13 sacks with Mario in my first season, he's such a beast...his rating is now 99

I always laugh bc Reggie Bush sucks...I love hit sticking that fool...also I injured Tony Romo with Mariom sacking him 3 times in a game :D

No, they are actually very extensively researched, its just that they put too much emphasis on team ratings based on performance and record.

Players who might have been 79 the year before suddenly become 88 when the team does well.

Sounds like ESPN style ratings to me.
