Man...I gave it a chance but I can't take it anymore. It's horrible. The music track is louder than the dialogue and keeps drowning out the horrible acting. Maybe that's the point. I'm over at my dads (better known as Really Old School) house watching it and even he's getting pissed because he has to keep turning the volumn up and down. And that gym...did IU play in a high school gym?? Someone will have to tell me how it turns out. I'm switching over to CBS at 8pm to watch the special on the 9/11 tragedy. Hey ESPN: Stick to televising sports and leave the movie business to the professionals. os
i hated the beginning, but i'm getting into it more. I've read the book, so part of me is following it just to see how true it is to the book. Believe it or not, the amount of profanity in the book is about on par with this, so that shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone. Anyway, i'm switching to CBS at 8, too. But until then, i'll see how this goes.
Who is the kid that Knight is picking on so bad? Whatever happened to Delray Brooks? Did he transfer to Providence?
eh, doesn't seem too interesting. I coulda sworn he just dropped the f-bomb tho, did he? if so, thas pretty funny.
i ended up switching to espn2 to watch the edited version.. got tired of listening to his cussing.....
Those former players on OTL were funny. I think they wanted a cut from the check ESPN wrote Feinstein.
Oh man, that movie was great...I was expecting maybe a few "hells" and possibly a god damn or two, but when I heard him "F***ING P***Y" about five times, I was hooked. My friend and I were floored when we heard the f-bomb the first time....Wouldn't expect that from ESPN...They should work some profanity into their other problems... "Next up on Sportscenter, Tracy McGrady goes F***ING APES**T on the Sixers!!"
Ok................I must say I was expecting this movie to be hard nosed but this movie made Bob knight look like a choir boy. It lacked in showing the true Knight cussing the way he did was only the half of it. To show Knight in is true colors would have been a 4 part miniseres Still discussing nature and what as important to all those reporters had me rolling after that win. He loved torturing the press Kinda reminds me of Charles barkley if he were a coach we would see him in the same scenario. Controversy!
I don't know what it is about Bob Knight, but he's won me over. He turned a losing Tech team into a # 6 seed. In the 'A Season on the Brink', Knight led a losing Hoosier team (the year before) to one win away from the Big 10 title. IU eventually lost to Cleveland St. in the opening round, but the next year won the NCAA title. If the movie wanted to portray Bob Knight as a monster, it failed. Knight's the guy who physically and verbally abused everyone around him - players, coaches, secretaries, it didn't matter... Who is the real Bob Knight? IMO, the movie showed Bob Knight as an angry giant who in the end only wanted the best from everyone. Other than Knight throwing a chair, there was no violence.
