I've been to my fair share of festivals in Waterloo park that have had piss-poor organization. I'm usually pretty leery. But since you say it's well organized, I might be interested in going. There are a few acts I'm excited to see.
There are some really great bands from the list: The National, Clap your Hands Say Yeah, Shearwater, Magentic Morning, Dan Deacon, Islands, The Annuals and Spinto Band. If I was anywhere close to Austin, I would be attending. How crowded has this festival been past two years, futants?
whats the deal with stage 2? why are there only 1 person from each band? solo project? or everyone gets together and jams?
Let's see, Islands and Trail of Dead would be fun to see. But I would go IF ONLY for Minus the Bear. My that would be awesome.
The crowds are great. It's never too crowded at any of the individual stages. The set-up is fantastic. The stages are all sort of in a row and the shows on each stage are staggered with the shows on the other stages. Waterloo Park is relatively small (in comparison to Zilker where ACL takes place).
I know right! Who's going to take the place of all the coked-up yuppie ex-sorority girl soccer MILFs that bump into you, spill their beer all over you, and scream in your ears? Worst... fanbase... ever...
