Dubai is at It Again: Shape-shifting Skyscraper in 2010

I read a book back in college about the Mayan culture and how they believed the ancient pyramids would be restored and reach the heavens once again before the end of time. It makes you wonder the Mayan calendar is suppose to end in 2012 and all the new buildings are going to open around that time. Burj Dubai, Freedom Tower, Chicago Spire, Hyder Building etc...

 

So this is the future of architecture?



Well I just hope the rooms in there don't look like this:

 

imagine all the people who would die in that thing if it ever crumpled or was hit by a terrorist.

AT LEAST 150,000 people would die in that building. blood would fill the streets for blocks.

great idea.

 

I'm guessing they took extra care in designing the building so an airplane couldn't take it down. They have some of the best architects in the world working on these things.

Also might as well not build any skyscrapers then. People could always die in them. Just might as well expand horizontally on the ground and be afraid forever.
