Clearing out some of my basketball cards and thought someone would enjoy this more than me. One authentic 86-87 Michael Jordan Fleer RC. It is not graded but I guarantee it to be the real thing; it came from a pack and was purchased there. I am taking offers.....I believe the Beckett book value is $750.00?

Anyway, I am taking offers on this card.......serious offers. Im not looking to get book value but I think 1/2 of book is fair or a starting point in bartering.
If you take a good look at the image you will see that the bottom right corner is a soft corner but the other 3 corners are razor-sharp. There is full color and I would say that its in excellent condition. Email with any questions.

You should send it to Beckett, so it can be graded. Of course, only if you think it's in great condition. You get a 9.0 or higher, that price of the card just gets bumped up, by a lot.

that card seems to be in good shape, I agree you should have it graded, I remember when people were paying $30K for this card in gem mint 10 condition

That was a long time ago. Cards are not in a high demand as they once were. I have really wanted this card since I was a kid, and now that I can afford it I will continue to search for it. I was trying to avoid Ebay.

The card would be lucky to grade out a 9. The bottom right hand corner, as the OP stated, is rather worn. That alone would probably make it grade out as an 8.

No way it grades a 9. It can't ever grade higher than the lowest factor and in this case it would be the corner. Also the card is off center. He will be lucky to get an 8 on this card. But still a card that anyone would love to have.

So I have to agree with you.

The card being off center will make it an error (as long as it wasnt meant to be like that) and therefore usually worth more. Note I say usually. Usually errors happen with stats or names or what not but also with images being cut off or off centered.

And usually making it an error and one of a kind sometimes makes it worth more to certain individuals.

That might be right with the more modern cards. (2000s)

But back then, errors (especially off center) were very very common.

And when you go grade vintage/old cards, they have a sub grading for center as well.

I didn't read about the corner part or notice the centering problem. So you shouldn't send it in to grade. Man... That's too bad, could have flown in some nice cash.

I've never seen a graded card labeled an error for being off center. They will either nail it for being off center in the 'centered' grade (like this one would be) or if its really bad where the trim edges are off the card, then they'd mark it as a OC (off center) or a MC (miscut).

Once the capitalist got involved and started adding pieces of hardwood floor and torn jerseys on the cards, that's when card collecting began it's downfall. These companies were asking like 5 dollars for a pack of 10 cards. GRRR It makes PSLs look humane!

let me know also if you don't get a buyer.

I shop at this grocery store in Jersey City, NJ and they still have this old school vending machine that still dispenses card packs from like 1990-1991 and before. I think the oldest packs are from 1986. From what I remember they have the NFL Pro Set, the Fleer Baseball cards of 1989, some Upper Deck from 1989. Its really strange seeing card packs from my youth still being sold in unopened packs.

99% of cards from 1988 to 1993 aren't worth the paper they're printed on.
