Corey Brewer. Played for Oklahoma in college and put up some mad numbers. He averaged I think around 23 a game in 97-98 at OU and consistently put the whoopin on UT as well as others. I'm serious when I say this guy has game, I think he would be a hell of a lot better than Walt. He can shoot the rock as well drive and run the break. He is a perfect fit for the Rockets. Last I heard he was in Miami but was going to the CBA because Riley wouldn't play him. That was last year though. Anybody know of a CBA site where I could research him?

I would take my chances with Leon Smith than him. Enough of the freakin shooters...don't we have too many already?

    Why stop there?

    Stacey King isn't doing anything.

We can probably get Harvey Grant, too.

Maybe pry Mookie Blaylock from Golden State...?

Wayman Tisdale-- he's not playing anywhere right now, is he?

Dave Sieger-- is he still alive?

Maybe we can fire Rudy and get Kelvin Sampson, too-- then, draft Eduardo Najera, rename the team the Sooners, change the colors to crimson and cream, and never have to worry about winning a championship again.

I just think this is pretty funny... this is the same person who claims that his appraisal of Mihm as "worthless" and his constant praise of Najera (a terrific player, IMHO) has nothing to do with his obvious, exaggerated bias towards OU and against UT.

A Place Where This Kind of Tripe is Expected

Check out the above link. I think you'll enjoy it. And everyone there wears the same crimson-and-cream goggles you've strapped on.

Look, Corey Brewer was a good, not great, college player. But guys like him are a dime a dozen-- 6'5" tweeners who don't have the handles to be effective as guards or the size to handle the increasingly larger forwards in the NBA.

There's a reason why Brewer's in the CBA. It's not because Pat Riley refused to play him-- it's because in the final analysis, his game couldn't cut it.

It happens to hundreds of guys every year.

And to think we had Brent Price and let him slip through our fingers...is it too late to rescind the Francis trade?

I'm 100% positive that we could get Randy White and/or Scotty Thurman, too!!! All it takes is a international phone call and they'll be in town to be fitted for their pinstripes as soon as they can cross the Atlantic!!!

    Anyone....

Is there anything to do in Cleveland? Are there any restaraunts without golden arches or neon signs? Please, I'm begging for some help here!!! I've got the whole rest of the day and tomorrow until 5:00 EST with nothing to do!!! I'm going bonkers playing Donkey Kong!!! Help me!!!

Randy White? The "next Karl Malone" from La Tech back in 89? Excellent idea!

Is there anything to do in Cleveland?

    Yes: leave.

Failing that, go check out the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

BK....yes, that Randy White!!! Should we call Rudy and suggest this to him, or should we just get Randy over here and throw him in the game when Rudy's not looking? ROFL!!!!

As for Cleveland, you should have seen me getting off the plane this morning. I was literally crying and begging to stay on the plane! Not only am I in the most boring city in the country, but I've got to watch the Cavs play tomorrow night!!! I'm not sure which one is worse. I'm thinking about venturing out into the city to look for a Target or a ToysRUs or something like that and buying more N64 games and/or a PlayStation. Video games are what is keeping me alive for the most part, but I've only got one game at the moment and it's driving me insane!!!!

Get me out of this city....it makes me babble on and on!!!!

You raise an interesting point: does Rudy, at any given time, know how many players he has on the court...? Or does he just assume it's five?

That would be interesting to see. Playing 6 on 5, I bet we could win at least half of our games.

That would be good if we got Sampson to go along with Brewer. Sampson is a great coach. Nice suggestion Kagy.

He he he. If we could pay him on a commission basis, like a dollar a point, steal, rebound and assist, he might be worth taking a look at. I liked Brewer in college, but is definitely a CBA caliber player.

davo....sorta. I have a Super Nintendo that is just for road trips, and I normally take that. My trip didn't start out as planned, so I didn't have time to pick it up before I left, so I bought a N64 - it's orange - while in Phoenix last Friday. The N64 is a new addition to my plane toy chest, but that Donkey Kong game has got me stuck - I need a tip book pronto!!!

Anyhoo, just to update you (I'm babbling, so you can tell I'm still in Ohio....help me, please!) on the "things to do in Cleveland" situation, I rented a car and drove around the Cleveland Metropolitan Area (ok, so maybe "metropolitan area" is stretching it a bit.....no, a lot) last night. It's no Houston, it's not even a Salt Lake City. It's a little bit better than the Ruston/Summerfield/Farmerville metroplex (25,000 people total, with about 1800 little itty bitty towns included) in northern Louisiana, but not much. We must have drove for like 3 hours and found nothing - and I mean nothing - of any interest. The coolest place that we found was something called "Don Burger" - it was a shack, that the board of health should seriously look into, that sold - get this - chicken! There were no burgers to be found, and there was no Don, either. I keep telling myself, there are only a few more hours left of this today and then I can go to Philly....I've been dreaming about one of those dripping-with-fat cheesesteaks for the past 2 days now.

I'm sure you really wanted to read all that....I apologise for wasting those 2 minutes of your life, but just be thankful you're not in Cleveland....
