I guess it's worth a shot that someone has encountered this problem...

When I try to send mail OE tells me I'm trying to use a feature "not installed", and prompts for my Works 2000 disk.
So after I put it in it says it can't find what it's looking for ?

...but if I tell it to cancel the email still is sent out.

I even went to microsoft.com and d/loaded OE from them but It still does this.

Has anyone experianced anything like this ?

Yow. I've seen a lot in OE, but I've never seen or heard of that.

Perhaps you could list which version of Windows you're using, if you have a firewall at all, and if you have Works 2000 installed, one of us could help a bit more.

I am out the door for the day, so I can't check for a reply for a while.

Good luck, hope one of the smarter peeps gets this one.

Thanks..I'm using 98se and my firewall is Zone Alarm pro.

I also had works on this machine when I bought it but I've deleted some components like the publishing software ? Not sure what else. The thing is...that I did that like a year before it ever started asking for the disk.

    Few more questions:

    1. How are you trying to send the mail? (Are you creating the letter within OE, then sending it, or are you using the Mail feature of IE or other program to launch?)

    2. What version of OE are you running? What version did you download from MS?

    3. Are you sending HTML or text?

    4. Are you using the default font in OE, or has it been changed? If it has, is it still installed on the system?

Just trying to get some more info...I've seen similar problems before...
