Honestly, I would trade my father for $1.8 million. I'm sure you'll think it's heartless and greedy, but that's the truth. I think you just became a triple hypocrite in the same thread... I'm not sure though I'll have to do the math.
It's America so he can print that? Well it's America and I think the guy's a piece of garbage. Last time I checked the average family didn't get 1.8 million dollars after somebody died. I'm pretty sure that is the upper class people in the 7 figure bracket that gets that. Saying you would give up your father for 1.8 million dollars is your opinion. You obviously have a problem with your father. But the average person doesn't have a problem with their father so saying they would give them up for money or saying that families go around begging for money is the same as saying that all black people are on welfare. It's short-sighted and ridiculous. I've known people who lost mothers and fathers and I didn't see them get a check for 1.8 million dollars.
Not any average family for any death. I'm specifically referring to the 9/11 victim's families. You're generalizing everything else I said. I said earlier that the situation with my father is not the same as most people. But Timing wanted to know if I would do it so I answered. Please don't put words into my mouth. AstroRocket-It really doesn't relate except that people are upset over what this guy printed because it offended people. My point was that people offend each other every day and nothing is done about it. That's all. Nothing major. You asked me if I would trade and I said I would. If someone said "we'll give you $1.8 million if your father has to die" I wouldn't hesitate (but this does not mean I'm out to kill him or anything). However, if my father did die, I would not go and ask for money or sue his family for it (as the 9/11 victims are doing). There's a difference between the two. So again, how am I contradicting myself? These are two separate acts. Diseased-You're right. They can get mad. But that doesn't mean they deserve an apology or that the cartoonist was wrong.
princess, do you ever not play devil's advocate (or take the dumb position) and do you ever have a leg to stand on. just curious.
It's not about playing "devil's advocate." I just really hate it when people blame other people for their problems instead of taking responsibility for their own choices and their own actions. Sorry if you don't agree with it.
