    Seriously, who cares?

Little girl should spend less time practicing singing and more time practicing not being ugly.

    Ashley Simpson?

Look, I think it's a stupid choice made by those directors, or officials. But come on, it's not like the girl was in a singing competition, so everybody calm down. As long as the singing girl gets proper credit for it, I don't have any problem as I have seen it everywhere, film, concert, Broadway shows, big deal.

it's not like they were trying to hide the fact. didn't the director admit to it? what's the big deal. the other girl got the credit for singing. she is probably happy that her voice got chosen. i agree that it's not good for her self confidence in terms of appearance. but it's the same thing here too. a lot of these female singers suck big time and only after studio magic their stuff would sell. but it's mostly because of their image not becase of their voice. what they should have done is, use some studio magic with the girl that showed up at the ceremony. maybe they didn't want spend time on that. who knows.

Ashely simpson lipsinged her own song...so that doesnt count...This is telling some little girl that she isnt pretty enough or good enough to represent her country...thats pretty low on china's part. but what can you expect from a country that doesnt care about the people but rather the objectives. Its the same with YAO work him until he cant go no more... Fractured foot 6 months ago? its all good we need you out there...

Don't assume you know everything about how the girl feels. Word has it she is happy to be able to do the vocal part.

Look, I say it's a bad decision but not that big a deal. Besides, who told you it's about appearance. From the picture, I'd say she is pretty cute too. One possibility, there are singing-talented people who are nervous on big stages and there are acting-talented people couldn't hit the pitch at all. They should have spent more time to recruit a girl who can sing and feel at ease in spotlight too. Too bad they took the easy way out and now here we are.

I can't see why people make such a big deal about it been fake, musicians and performers do that all the time. And you seriously can't expect a 8 year be burdened with the pressure of singing live in front of a billion people worldwide.

I am more pissed off that the other girl didn't get any exposure and recognition for her talents just because some idiot from the CCP replaced her just because he thought she wasn't pretty enough.

The guy who wrote this article seemed to be more concerned with a lipsynched song that lasted less then a minute then the fact that some poor girl was robbed of her chance to be in the spotlight.

It has to be great for those 8 year old's psych to know that the entire world now know one of them will be forever labeled as the pretty girl who couldn't sing and while the other as being so ugly they had to replace her.

Well, I won't call you a drama queen. But you have made so many assumptions in order to come up with your argument that it is really amazing.

Are you aware that the production team and the director has openly admitted that before anyone knew about it? They released the 'news' to the media. Learning from you, I would just make one assumption (which is also more reasonable than yours) that they had told the girl that she would just sing in the background when she auditioned for it. So why is it so tragic and humiliating? Right...the fact that they enlisted a girl to sing in the background has proved that they don't care much about the people. I am not arguing whether they do care or not. I just think the reason that you used to make your point is kinda naive.

This is a very disappointing incident -- I hope China doesn't try to blame it on the rain.

How does it dispute the assumption that the girl knew that she would just sing in the background when she auditioned for it?

Now I know you can write in a sarcastic way. What an accomplishment.

Seriously. It's one thing the girl was promised to sing in the ceremony but then got snubbed because she was not pretty enough.

It's another thing that they had made it clear to find someone just to sing in the background and the girl knew it all along when she auditioned for the job.

Since they openly admitted the fact to the public, I would think the 2nd scenario is much more probable. Now it's your turn to tell me your problem.
