LOL, actually I doubt EA would put that up. In the future they will probably require a pass code from NCAA to unlock your Madden disc. Right before the antichrist ends us all.
Madden has setup a feedback process where community leaders play the game, uncover quirks, then EA fixes them, and the process repeats. So the game will be finely tuned. NCAA did not have the luxury. From what the developers are posting they make it seem like they simply don't have the resources to fine tune anything, they simply put out the game, wait a few months, then patch the major areas of concern. They only patch once. This year its clear, Madden. Its looking like this will be the best Madden of all time. Also, Madden will be showcased on PS3 this year rather than the 360. Probably because those 360's die when they are encased, among other reasons.
Every year it seems like a handful of people in Houston manage to get NCAA before the street date. If anyone hears, sees, or anticipates anything let me know. Or if you could sell me the game early that would be sweet too. If you work at a Target or Walmart you could ring the game out as misc item at 59.99. Back when I worked at Target I would have gladly done that for you guys, but then again I didn't give two gigs about that job.
If you haven't played video games in that long, you might want to wait for Madden. It has a "test" so the game can see how good you are and adjust the skill level based on how you do. As you get better the game will adjust as well. They have included alot of features designed for new players. So I say wait until August and get Madden.
Madden looks amazing this year. They re-did a lot of things and added a lot more features. I really like the cutback moves they added this season (used it in NCAA) and how you can spin and in the middle of the spin you can go right into a juke or cut. EA tries to keep both games with separate features. NCAA will have the stadium factor where crowds definitely play into the game. When the crowd gets loud and you're on the road and you get to the line and try and check your play, the routes start the shake and you can't see it clearly. I also think if you try and audible and if it's really loud, your players won't be able to hear the change. I always liked the dynasty mode in NCAA and the recruiting, but Madden was/is my favorite of the two. Definitely getting both, but don't know for which system. The 360 plays sports game a lot smoother than the PS3 (from last year), but I don't want my 360 dying on me (just got it back from repairs)
The graphics difference is negligible now. In NCAA anyways. I agree with the Madden assessment, they really are going all out on that title this year.
Anyone download and play the NCAA demo? This is my first year with a ps3, and I'm pretty impressed with the look, gameplay, etc. I'm definitely stoked for both games, but I'm certain I'm going to get and play both. Can't wait to start up a dynasty with some friends online!
Its fun against a human opponent. Not so much against the CPU IMO. It is on varsity difficulty though. Which is typically very easy. The graphics blow the 08 PS3 out of the water and this years version is fun. Last years was boring and had some lagging issues to go along with the bad menus and 30fps.
That's one reason why I wouldn't buy the PS3 version. Did they fix that this year? Is is at 60 fps like the 360?
Anybody getting Madden tonight or land it early maybe? Any thoughts? I have a feeling I would like it even with its reported problems.
playing ncaa 09 on on the 360... defense is impossible. i guess that makes it more realistic when the score is 35-27, but i like good D and low scoring games. i also find it pretty difficult to break open on the run. it's fun, and the graphics are nice.
I'm getting a little better....On offense, I find that if I play more ball control offense, and mix in the run, it helps me wear out the defense and frustrate my opponents when they have to deal with long drives. Sometimes this means I have to take some crappy runs, but it helps keep the clock running. Also, I've gotten a lot better at throwing over the middle. I used to love routes that cut out towards the sideline, but it's too easy to get picked off in this game doing that. Also, as far as running goes, it's good to use a team that has a back fast enough to run outside, too. Pitt actually has a great back for this. I used Lesean McCoy from Pitt the other day against a friend and ran for 190 yards! He is tough, but also has the speed and accelleration to get outside. (95 speed.) I'm finding a little more success on D, too. In past games, i liked being a D-lineman and trying to help pressure the qb. It just doesn't work in this game, so I've been going with a middle linebacker. Sometimes I"ll blitz, sometimes I'll come up on the run, and other times I'll try to drop into zone or help man cover a receiver. And I almost always show blitz or press with my DB's to try to throw off timing. This is usually out of a nickel or dime defense if the other team is trying to kill me with the pass. Oh, this is all on PS3, by the way.
Anyone play NFL Head Coach? I am not into calling plays but I do like simming, drafting, and building a franchise. Does HC2 have those things? Or is it strictly a play calling affair?
So can someone explain the online dynasty to me? I haven't been interested in NCAA since 07 but this sounds neat...
Basically, you can create an online dynasty with up to twelve people total. Can be in different conferences, the same conferences, etc. For instance, 2 friends and myself have started a dynasty where we are all big 12 north teams who aren't mizzou. Therefore, we're not crushing all of our opponents, and we have to play each other once each year. It's pretty fun to play and recruit against each other. One person is the acting commissioner, and is in charge of "advancing" the week when everyone is ready, or if people agree to advance it at a certain time. If you are gone, you can set your dynasty to autopilot and it'll sim for you as long as you need. It's pretty cool stuff. There have been some major glitches and issues, but there are alleged patches being worked on to address them.
