I finally upped and bought the game for PS3 the other night but I must be missing some things. This is the first time I have not played it on PS2 so I have some questions.

    1. I remember on the PS2 I could control individual player coverages. I could drop a defensive lineman back into coverage, man them up, or rush them. Now I am not seeing any way to do this. Is there?

    2. How do I utilize the control your own stadium sounds? Do I need to put the audio files I want to use on my PS3? If so, how do I do this? If not, how do I utilize this function?

    3. How do I use the lead blocker function?

    4. What other new/different options am I overlooking?

    2. You have to add mp3 files to your ps3 hard drive. Then you go into the settings and set them to play for certain situations.

Hey, man. I'm still playing/ getting frustrated by this game on a daily basis! :D

Here's how, on defense. When you select a certain player, push the "x" button. It will bring up a screen which shows you the two analog controls at the top of the screen. It gives you eight different things you can do with that player based on what you do with the analog. If you want to drop him into a deep zone, i think you push up on right analog. If you want him to blitz, i think it's down on the right analog. Man is to the left on one of the analogs, and then you have to push the button corresponding to the receiver you want him to cover.

I've tried messing around with this a lot to help on D. IT's so damn hard to play D on this game, and cover kicks. I'm getting better in some ways, but I feel like I'm regressing in others! Hope that some of the patches help out.

Anyway, if you want to add me, my username is: ry_bil

I'm on there getting my ass handed to me a couple nights a week! Let me know if you have any other questions. I haven't messed with adding my own music. I've heard some people have had issues while others have had no problems.

Oh, and I haven't used the lead blocker. However, if at the line you press the circle button, you can select different players to send in motion.

I think my record is 1-11 or something like that. I gave up playing because 1 I suck. 2 online is so slow and 3 my team sucks donkey balls.

With all that said does anyone know how to High step into the end zone?

I "downgraded" from the PS3 version to the PS2 version this year because the gameplay on the PS3 version was so bad.

How is the PS2 version? I got the feeling they stopped making any major changes. Which I guess might actually be a good thing if they tune the gameplay. So I guess no online dynasty for you ey?

Nope, no online dynasty, which is a pretty big bummer for me since that is the feature I most looked forward to. I play mostly online, and find I get tired of playing the CPU in dynasty play relatively quickly, so the online dynasty feature would've made playing a dynasty a lot more fresh to me.

I'm loving the PS2 version right now, so much so that I'm actually a little afraid of being forced into the PS3 version next year if it isn't much improved. They upgraded to playbooks a little more once again (which is big for me since I'm a playbook/gameplanning junky), which makes them still more expansive compared to PS3. They tweaked the gameplay flaws from last year (too easy deep ball, bad pursuit angles, etc), and it plays very tight overall. They added a few tweaks here and there (defensive line crashes and shading your secondary is now possible). It still has some minor flaws, but it is the best NCAA I've ever played. The level of strategy you can use in the game correlates pretty well to real football. I can make adjustments on the offensive or defensive side of the ball in response to what my opponent is doing and end up seeing it reflected on the field. I'm more of a "sim" player, so I take great joy in seeing that.

The NCAA gaming community has raised a huge stink over the PS3/360 version since it is so full of bugs and gameplay problems. I'm hoping that fact will lead to a much improved version next year.

Wow I might have to look into the PS2 version. I will wait for the 2nd patch most likely. You sound like a legit player, would have been fun to run in a dynasty together.

Yeah, the PS2 version is treating me well gameplay-wise, but for a lot of people it may feel a little stale. I don't think graphics were updated at all (I think they made changes to some of the stadiums and I have noticed a few new motion capture moves), and it still plays very much like NCAA 08. It's like an NCAA 08.5 - basically a cleaned up version of 08 with a few extra bonuses added in.

I knew after playing the PS3 version for a while that I wouldn't be able to play regular online games without ripping my hair out. I also saw myself being able to take advantage of the AI way too easily on offense while playing against the CPU. I may take a look at the game again after the second patch comes out because there are a lot of things I did like about it, but I just knew the gameplay would frustrate me too much over the long-run.

I am trading it in towards Madden today. I might pick it up again after the patch(es), but for now the game just seems a bit "off". Though I will admit yesterday I had one of the best games in NCAA history and had a blast it just hasn't been like that most of the time. Hopefully Madden is better.

I may do the same with my copy after I review some statements about Madden on here.

What's the easiest way to get the rosters for the PS2 version if you don't have a PS3? In the past, there were several guys you could mail a memory card to and have them load the rosters onto it, but this year I can't find anyone who has the PS2 ones. I don't want to pay $25 for someone to do it either.

This game is the only reason I still have a PS, but if I can't get the full rosters (without a sharkport etc) I don't even want to buy it.
