why do you end every post with that smiley?

I cant help but think that Yao shouldnt be out there...He looks tired, hurt and ineffective :(

If he gets hurt next season with a stress related injury CHINA can go F themselves...

Though i don't want to see Yao taking too many jumpers, i would disagree that he should "leave the shooting to the more natural" shooters. Think about it, which of those players has had the highest ft% the past 3 seasons. I'd like to see yao take it from 18 from time to time

Yeah I watched it...its just stupid to think a 7'6 guy will heal from a stress fracture in less than a year, let alone 6 months

I doubt Yao aggrevated his injury, he "appeared' to have because he was pissed off at some of the plays forced to him. Although China played hard and well, they were force feeding Yao way too much. So I'm not suprised if he made a painful/pissed off face. In NBA, he was used to the Rockets type passes. Where Yao would position himself, and receive the ball over the passer's defender. However, in olympics everyone would just Double Yao straight away. There was no McGrady to spread the defense or the signature T-mac drive in and dish to Yao play.

I felt sorry for Yao though, he played very well, even at 70-80%, hes still a hustler. Yi could've done much better, the only thing that impressed me was his dunk on Anthony.

Well...on the play in question he was clearly clutching at his leg/ankle/foot and grimacing after taking a fall. I don't think he was showing frustration at the team's play at that point.

I dont think Yao was hurt , towards the end of the game he was on his feet basically jumping up and down cheering on his team with a minute left.

I don't want to hear another soul complain about Yao shooting 3's in the Olympics.

    We have two problems here:

    1. Yao being required to play for the national team, even as he recovers from one of many injuries to which his national-team duties have contributed. More impact, more stress, more damage, more chance of injury.

    2. Yao shooting 3's.

    Problem #2 solves problem #1.

Forget what your mother told you. Sometimes two wrongs do make a right.

Yao seemed to be walking fine after that scary fall. Oh man, China sucks at getting their best player the ball. If he touched it more, the game would be even closer. Yi is looking like a big disappointment. He couldn't do crap all game.

Regarding problem #1, I think Yao is delighted to play for the national team this year, and probably wouldn't miss it for the world.

Its tough for those of us who love the Rockets, but I can hardly blame him for that.

Yao seemed to be playing fine until the day when it was reported that he had the stress fracture and would be missing the rest of the season. Appearances can be deceiving...just gonna have to let it play out and see what happens.

There's no reason to think Yao aggravated his injury (which has healed). He came down a little funny on his ankle and walked it off immediately. Calm down.

Who care what Russell did, he wasn't a good offensive player anyway, no outside nor inside.

Todays game have change and adding a weapon like that is good. Did you saw Duncan hitting that crucial 3 pointer to tie the game in the playoff and that was a set play. That doesn't mean he will be shooting 3 pointer like Sheed but from time to time he can do it, not only 3pts but long 2 pointers. Everybody knows that in the clutch the NBA refs swallow their whistles and let interior players get hammer. If he can perfect that he can be more dependable than a streaky Rafer or T-Mac, and probably let alone, is nice extra weapon to have.

Watching Yao yesterday was like watching his rookie season. Man, he set a lot of picks and took a lot of jumpers.

I have to think that he's not 100%, and that since this was just the preliminaries(with the team having zero chance of winning), they're just saving him.

Still, kind of frustrating to the best player by far on the team relegated to role player.
