I was rooting for Yao and wanted China to win. Yes I would pull for Argentina if we played them in the gold medal game. I really don't care about the olympics I hardly watch the olympics.
I want the US to win gold and I'm just hoping that Yao comes out of these games not injured. Seriously, this will be a great tune up to get him back into shape but I'd be devistated if we lost Yao for any portion of the upcoming season because of these olympic games. Rooting for team USA and Yao to get back into shape and not get injured.
i dont see why anyone who isn't chinese would be voting for chins to win. Just because Yao is a rocket you'd want to see your own country lose ? i don't get it. U S A all the way. i hope we destroy everyone we play.
I am rooting for Yao and any underdogs to win. I like underdogs. It's a miracle if China beat US. The China team from what i seen...still pretty weak...they fold under pressure...can't even make an inbound pass...and turnover...wtf?? They have poor transition defense....poor at shooting from outside and if they ever have any chance of beating any team is if they continue feeding the ball to Yao and let Yao shoot on EVERY SINGLE DAMM POSSESSION. But obviously they're not going to do that...
I think most people here, like myself, just want to see Yao do good. He's such a class guy and a hard worker, he deserves a medal. Maybe not at the expense of the US, but nothing would make me happier if it ended up being: USA:Gold China: Silver Argentina:Bronze although I wouldn't be terribly upset if Yao won a gold medal. don't tell me you weren't clapping when Yaohit that 3, or when he stuffed Kobe, or when he tossed Chris Bosh. I laughed when CP3 ran into Yao's screen and fell down like he ran into a brick wall.
Also i think the Chinese team need to get rid of all the garbage players they have...like the guards and the Wang ZhiZhi....they ain't that great. They need to start developing and finding gems....cuz from what i seen...they're still TOO WEAK. I don't know wheather it's the same players they have or what...maybe they need a US coach instead of a European coach. Maybe i am exaggerating since this US team are composed of SUPERSTARS and nobody is going to beat them anyway.
I cheered for Yao to dominate, but I wanted the USA to crush China, just like I want them to crush everyone.
NO WAY. I want Yao done with the Olympics as soon as possible so he can get back to rehabbing and recovering for the upcoming season.
My country is not China, so I wanted the US to win. Yao is on my favorite team so I wanted him to play well. I won't pass judgement on Americans who wanted to see China win,though. Heck, I was born in San Antonio, am a vetran, never lived in Houston, and am a Christian. Yet, I have to admit I throurghly enjoyed Hakeem, a Muslim from Nigeria, playing for Houston, domination Veteran, Christian, Native born American, and San Antonio Spur David Robinson. Team loyalty can be a funny thing.
i llove yao, but i don't think he works harder than most players from other countries. i dont think he deserves a medal just for hard work, everyone who plays professionally works hard. i also could care less how yao performs in these olympics, just how well he plays in for the rockets. hell i wish we wasnt even playing right now, just resting. i have a bad feeling hes going to hurt himself again before the olympics are over.
Hard to not admire the athleticism of these US players..snatching the ball midair etc..I mean these chinese guards are atleast good enough to play college ball and even one is headed to lakers camp ..the US players make them look slow and were just too overpowering...
you want yao to do well b/c he's playing in his home country. but obviously you want USA to obliterate every of its opponent to get back the dominance and intimidating it once had. every team should fear America when it steps on the court with them, which isn't the case anymore. we need to earn that back.

yea that was scary. though he walked up fine, i don't think it was the food that he had surgery on. no more falling down please. just let them score.
TEAM USA - ANYTHING LESS IS UNPATRIOTIC except for our Chinese brothers and sisters I would love for Yao to sit out and not compete at all. I'm more interested in winning a 3rd championship than a bronze medal for China.
I was rooting for team USA! I want every team to dominate China so badly that he NEVER wants to play national ball again.
