    Great to see Yao, and their athlete running around the stadium was just amazing.

    that athlete is Li Ning, the "gymnasticsrings prince", ever selected "the best athlete in 20th century" in 1999, the founder of Li-Ning brand. Our Chuck and Damon Jones of Cleveland Cavaliers are wearing this brand shoe.

    Yao looked mad sweaty when he came out. Man needed a towel.

    But great guy, as we all know already, and great opening ceremony.

    Now hopefully everyone can grasp the magnitude of such an event and understand that this takes first priority over playing in the NBA for a man like Yao. He is the face of the country that is hosting the Olympics and this is of HUGE significance in China. Go Yao!

    I think our flag bearer should have been American. I didn't see any other countries with non born residents carrying their flags.

    I'm all for the land of opportunity and all...blah, blah, blah, meltingpot stuff...but come on...

    in our attempt to look cool we look loike dumb asses

    Agreed...winning an NBA championship is just for a city. No one really cares outside of basketball fans.

    Go up to the average joe on the street and ask them who won the NBA title a few months ago...there is a huge chance that they won't know.

    Ask that same person if they watched the Olympics...

    Olympics = world.

    NBA = city

    I'll take the world

    In the top and bottom pictures it looks like Yao has a thinning patch of hair in almost the same spot as Lin Hao. So cute.

    It is said that this USA flag bearer was selected simply because he came from somewhere special. It is also said that the selection is a slap on the face of China.

    Oops, Yao Ming is the face of China. :D
