Every scouting report on him basically said he was an average/above-average college athlete that was all but guaranteed to be below-average on the NBA level. If that's the case and he's a "much better athlete", what does that say about Novak then?

I saw him play a few times in college and in a few Summer League games. He looked little more than a spot up shooter without a position to me. As DD keeps saying, he seems to have a knack for the ball and always finds the right spots on the floor which is precisely what a good spot up shooter should do. All i'm saying is we don't really have room for a guy like him or Novak.

I am wondering if you have issues with reading comprehension.

I am not distraught over losing Novak, I wish him well.

He was not going to play here, so he moved on....big deal.

My first post in this thread.

Show me where I am distraught.

And of course he has some control, but there are some things that he just will NEVER be good at because of physical limitations like lateral movement.

Therefore he has to find a proper fit to highlight his skills and minimize his weaknesses, and that was not here in Houston because there are better players ahead of him.

Heck, I think Maarty Luenan is better suited for the NBA game than Novak..

I saw Leunen play all 4 years in college. I for one was shocked that he was even drafted but what WAS NOT shocking was his performance in the summer league. He was a good college player and he knows how to play the game like many are saying but he will never be good enough to contribute. He's just not good enough. He's too weak to play PF and he's not quick enough to play SF. He's like a step or two below Luke Walton skill wise without a legendary HOF dad trying to cut it. Very difficult.

if Kyle Korver can make it.. so can Novak. Just hope he doesn't light us up when we play the clips..

I like Novak and wish he could have stayed and somehow got more playing time.

Goodbye Novak. I wish you the best in Clipperland. I'll miss your shooting. I won't miss your lack of defense.

Korver is more athaletic than Novak. Novak will be lucky to ever average more than 10 mpg.

Oh well... it's the result of an overflowing roster filled with talent, and he won't get the minutes to show his worth in Houston. Good luck in LA Novak!

Trade Head to Memphis for cash considerations.

As for Hayes, I don't think he has a full BYC anymore.

Guys.... what's up with some of ya abusing Novak? He was a good guy, he worked hard, no fat contract, kept the streak alive.... a simple "Thanks for the effort and Good Luck!" aint that hard.... Props to those with the class to keep it cordial!

I don't think anyone is abusing Novak. He played as well as he could when he was given an opportunity but this is a business and we're chasing a ring and there simply was no room for Novak. Good luck to him though.

I think it is a no lose and good trade for the Clippers. They won't be a defensive jugarnaut, so if Novak gets more time with Baron pushing the floor, he can make a lot of shots and average even in double figures for them.

That's why I would have thought that we could have gotten more while trading him, especially if we would have packaged him with Head or Hayes. Steve is very cheap, contract wise, for any team wanting a top shooter and who feels that they can make up for his defensive liabilities. Personally I think his defense will get better with more playing time. So I hate not only to see him go, although it was inevitable for this season, but I wish and would have thought that we could have gotten more for him. But I have confidence that Morey shopped around for the best that he could get and didn't just give him away to the first suitor.

Good luck Novak and thanks for all the 3 pointers you made, especially the one to keep the streak alive!

every starter averaging double digits?? don't get me wrong, that would be nice... but I remember a point in the season last year when only 2 players on the whole team could do that, and alston couldn't do it until yao was out and was forced to do so

I'm not sayin it was a bad move... just chiding those who wanna take childish potshots (ie Novak Sucks, etc...) at a guy who did his job to the best of his ability.... and didnt come with baggage.
