Dumbest? That's always a matter of opinion. You can rightfully (pun intended) accuse Fox News of tilting to the right, but so far they haven't fabricated stories like the New York Times. The Times has been embarrassed with more several "well, it could have been true" stories. However, news credibility is a different thread. Let's stick to Hillary's statements with respect to the upcoming convention.
Had Hillary Clinton lived before Niccolo Machiavelli, she would have been his mentor. She would have set the gold standard for the term devious for all time.
You are suckers to a Fox News made up issue. Obama has the deligates to win on the first ballot and he will do so. Hillary has been supporting Obama's campaign since her concession speach....conjecture filled editorials and anonymous sources not withstanding. Now ...I agree that she should release her deligates and urge them to vote for Obama. I also wish she'd take her name off the ballot. And there's time for that. But have patience, grasshoppers, patience. And remember.....Bill didn't get a unanimous selection in 1992. And Kuscinich (who is admittedly.....um....nuts) kept his name on in the ballot in 2004. So this isn't some unpresidented underhanded ploy to steal the nomination. Move along people. Nothing to see here.
To be fair, this is not a Fox-originated thing. Lots of media have reported this. I believe the story originated with Time Magazine.
This isn't true. http://www.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/01/22/obama.madrassa/ They took an completely false article from a right-wing site and repeated it multiple times as news. Their commentators continued to repeat it AFTER CNN had completely debunked it as well.
They also reported this completely false story about KFC opening up in Afghanistan as evidence of things improving: http://talkingpointsmemo.com/archives/207031.php All it took was one phone call to KFC to prove it incorrect - but that was too much for Fox. They just run with whatever they hear without actually checking facts. Last week Fox News ran a story about how things were going so well in Fallujah that they've opened their first KFC franchise to keep the locals hooked up with quality Fried Chicken. They even got ret. Gen. Tommy Franks to comment on the great news. The whole thing sounded a bit iffy to us. So unlike Fox News we decided to ring up KFC World Headquarters to find out if the story was really true. Afraid not. Things may be going swimmingly in the former insurgent hotspot. But there's no KFC in town. In fact, KFC tells us they're now "working with the US Military to warn the troops of this situation", whatever that means.
Well so much for Thumb's belief about Fox News. I do believe that they usually don't just make up false stories, but get them from conservative blogs or the Administration/ Pentagon propaganda feeds etc. It is interesting and unfortunately very effective to see Rush and Fox and the Bush/ McCain folks be all together on message each day.
This is weird and not really related to the post but I'm disturbed by it. I was on the plane today and fell asleep, had a dream that a hurricane was coming towards my place in Houston. I was packing my things to go stay with Hillary Clinton at her ranch in central Texas. WTF? Why? I couldn't bring my cats along with me, so my neighbor, who happened to be Trader_Jorge offered to take care of my two cats? I set up a camera in the house to record any damages so that I could use it for insurance purposes and then my dream FF to the end and I got home, found some damage, so I watched the video and found that T_J and GWB had a hurricane party at my house, they were smoking hooka and fornicating with my cats while watching fox news. I've got to stop taking ambien for those long flights. eek
Speaking of Fox News and Olberman, did anyone see this? McClellan admitted on MSNBC that the White House sends Fox News talking points! <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/c-OpIXfXKO8&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/c-OpIXfXKO8&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> Fair and Balanced... wow!
They could definitely check ALL their facts better though. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/OpssfO_v2_M&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/OpssfO_v2_M&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> Didn't the KFC they're talking about in Fallujah turn out to be a fake?
Unbelievable. Dismiss 18 million Democrats... 18 million Americans as being mentally challenged (r****ded is something I would expect to hear on a grade school playground from ignorant children) simply because they didn't vote for Barack Obama and had the nerve to vote for that woman. This is an election, not a coronation. Nominations are earned, not handed to candidates on a gilded platter. Frankly, at the moment, several of you are more than a bit disgusting. That's the nicest thing I would say. This reminds me of the same paranoia I read here before Clinton conceded. I said then that such paranoia was insulting to her and insulting to her supporters. It still is. At least to me, it also shows an inherent fear of the worth of Barack Obama. I don't know how else to explain it. This incessant paranoia about Hillary Clinton won't go away. Given the slightest absurd rumor the dogs come out howling. Why? Don't you have confidence in Senator Obama? You certainly don't act like it. I do. I also have confidence in Senator Clinton. Both Senators will do what is best for the Democratic Party and the nation. I haven't nearly the confidence in some of Senator Obama's ardent supporters here. Impeach Bush.

Where the hell have you been? McClellan backed away from this allegation. O'Reilly challenged him on it, and he did a complete 180 when he realized he had no evidence of this. The last place you want to try to get reliable news is on Countdown with Keith Olbermann.
Really thumbs, do you honestly believe Clinton has some nefarious plan to steal the nomination? Or are you just jerking people around? It’s just absurd. Hell Obama is about to go on a 10 vacation and non other than Hillary Clinton is going to stand in for him this next week and do several campaign stops. All this talk is just silly. She is going to do all she can to help Obama and the democrats this fall.
caught a little of anderson cooper's show last night, and they were all over this story, so it's not just fox.
