Wow for the most influential athlete in China this is the best shoe Reebok could design for Yao? I know big man don't sell shoes but at least try and make a shoe people wants to buy.
Well no but I ain't wanting any shoes that are rejected by the two all-star players of my NBA team, the Rockets. I have an Adidas one and will get a Reebok one soon.
I think the idea is great but the execution sucked! Maybe black sneaker and silver dragon might have worked. Anyways, what are you guys talking about, dragon rules!
Even if its U-G-L-Y it's still a collectors item with only 2008 pairs, you could ebay them for way more! I'm defiantly getting a pair of Yao hex or whatever the they are calling them.
Damn those are straight hideous. And what's up with the outsole? That thing looks like it provides no traction whatsoever. Lucky Yao isn't a guard. If Baron and AI are wearing those, man, they're gonna slip up alot on the court. Reebok sucks. I remember during the height of the bball kicks craze some years back, there was a website that had like real professional reviews of them. Reebok's shoes? Some of them could be bent all the way down at the midfoot area. Something like a ^ shape. With shoes this poorly engineered, it's no wonder Yao has so many foot problems. He needs to ditch Reebok and sign on with adidas or something.
Big men don't sell...especially if the shoe is ugly. Let's face it, power forwards and centers need shoes that put substance over style. Otherwise you end up with injuries... Reebok better get this right A huge chunk of the Air Jordan line is ugly. But man, MJ sells. I wonder what Yao's shoe sale figures look like in China. I know those things won't sell at all here in the U.S.
Yao seriously should have signed with Nike or Adidas. Not only are Reeboks hideous, but they haven't exactly helped his foot problems. Maybe since Adidas bought RBK Yao can get a pair of T-Macs or something.
I think the color/graphics on the shoe are what make them seem uglier than they actually are. I also believe that this is a limited edition design. I imagine that his regular season color pattern will be much better and the overall appearance will be better as a result of that.
i saw these new shoes of his in person, and they are much uglier than they look in the picture. they are horrible.
Wow, I feel like I am the only one who thinks these shoes are alright. Granted the dragon is a little bit over the top, but for the regular season shoes, I don't think they will look that bad.
Adidas and Reebok = SAME COMPANY. Stay away from the three striped crap. Should've gone with Nike, Yao. I'm sure they would've designed his shoe to prevent foot injuries.
i can't believe they brought "the pump" back. all that extra useless hardware adds weight. the only thing they need are those catapults in the heel that LA gear used to have.
ummm... with all the trouble Yao has been having... with his feet... looks to me like the shoes are arched... which is standard and fine... but shouldnt he have flat shoes... or some type of shoe which forces him to run on his heels,,, rather than his toes...
same model as iverson and b diddy will be wearing? that sucks, a guard's shoes and a centre's shoes need to be engineered way differently...
