I agree. It's a fantastic game, but there are times when I'm just tired of having to drive from one island to another over and over again. And if I fail a mission, having to do the very beginning (often just driving from one place to another) can get pretty old.
I agree with this as well. Driving for drivings sake really sucks. I absolutely love the game though.
set a waypoint and hail a taxi, or you can use roman's car service for free. you can even hail a taxi as you get out .. do a mission or whatever and the taxi will still be waiting for you.
well if you're my g/f sometimes the core gameplay is just pure gold. Case in point. riding along on her motorcycle full speed on the highway. Doesn't anticipate the exit and the turn she is supposed to make. Hits a car and goes flying. (no probl loss of some health right?) clips the top of a Van (more health gone) flies OFF the freeway hits the side of the other overpass (more health gone) and falls to the streets below. (DEATH) Such random acts watching her play really just makes me laugh.
I have this game and play it sporadically. I have young kids so can't play it very often. I am still near the beginning and still on the 1st island. I read people talking about a internet cafe where you can try to date girls online or something. Is that something that you have to open thru mission on the game or something, cuz I can't find it. Probably on a diff island?
Just finished the story line missions and... Spoiler I took the deal at first, because I'd never dated Kate so her voice of reason was not that strong. Sure I liked the $250,000 cut, but it was null and void once Roman was killed. I went back and the revenge route because, like I said, I never interacted with Kate a lot and her death in this course does not matter as much as Roman's in the other. I mean, she never gave me free cab rides.
i really hate the driving missions. especially the motorcycle ones. how do you countrol the damn thing?
Just don't try to catch your target right away...take the corners easy but make sure you get too far behind. Eventually you will catch up to them...actually for all those chase missions it seems there's some rubber band physics happening.
Yeah, the motorcycle/chase/shooting missions are dumb. Especially when you get a one star wanted level for shooting once when the enemy fires as he pleases. But yeah, take corners slow and then on straights just open fire.
I am not too far in the game. What is up with the "friends" that pop up on the first island? I tried a mission for one and failed. Now I haven't seen them again.
BUMP Recently bought a 360 and GTAIV and I NEED cheat codes but I can't figure out how to apply them. I found some links online giving me phone numbers to type in the dude's cell phone but it's saying I need Xbox Live or something? Can you use the cheat codes without this online deal? Edit: Sorry if this has been mentioned in this thread already but I scrolled through 7-8 pages out of the 30 or so in this thread and couldn't find anything.
Spoiler "Deal" feels a lot harder than "Revenge". It took me 3-5 tries to finish the last mission of "Revenge", but 20+ tries to finish the last mission of "Deal". I actually really like Kate, all the other girlfriends are so ****ed up that I wanna through them out of the car while on dates with them.
Spoiler Jimmy P wanted Niko to work with Dimitri on the heroin trade, because Jimmy P needed the money. But Niko killed Dimitri and destroyed the trade, and this ruined Jimmy P's last chance of reviving his business. That's why Jimmy P wanted to kill Niko for revenge.
What is the deal with the save system on this game? Whether I have auto save on or I save it myself at start up it always starts a random game...
