I emailed John Granato from 1560 about a week ago to tell him about Carmichael Dave. He responded back telling me - Thanks for the heads-up.

That video is one of the funniest things I've ever seen. I'm going to post the vid (rather than the link) so everyone can laugh at it:

    <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/W45DRy7M1no&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/W45DRy7M1no&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Oh my God! That's hilarious! Is that real? If so, that guy had no business being on tv.

Good quote...There is a thread in the Clutch Fans Feedback section where are asking to get Carmichael Dave upgraded so he can start threads. Please post your thoughts there if you agree.

Man if you get a job in Houston that would be crazy. All I wanted to do is listen to the radio about the Artest trade, now look what has become.

    My goodness hahaha

He was a freshman in college, and he volunteered to do it for some college news station. From what I remember, the teleprompter guy didn't know what he was doing, and on top of that the backup hard copy pages he was given were out of order.

Credit to dave, cause I don't think I've ever seen an out of town radio host get so much love from people here asking him to move to houston.

    They suck.

Seriously it used to be very good when there was only sports radio 610AM. But since 790 and the other ones came along, and a lot of the original hosts of the 610 shows split to host their own shows at the other stations, and it was never the same.

You should definitely try to get a gig at 610, since they do all the rockets games. I definately wouldn't mind listening to you teaming up with MattJ.

The "original" SR610 hosts were never so great to begin with, IMO. They clearly have their fans, though. Basketball is not a terribly hot topic on Houston sports radio. Texans/NFL, Astros/MLB, and NCAA football talk all take priority, and Houston does not have a single "basketball guy" whose primary expertise is roundball on any of Houston's three dedicated sports AM stations.
