i kind of put Vanilla Sky in that same realm of Eternal Sunshine, maybe not on the same level as BJM, but still a pretty good mind trip. great movie.
If someone can tell me what the heck "I Heart Huckabees" was about, I would appreciate it. I think that also goes in that category.
thoughts on these? i haven't seen them, though they look interesting these are supposedly similar movies to donnie darko... i'm not sure about that. I don't know about the other two, but Better Off Dead is your typical 80's 'beat the jerk in some kind of race to get the girl' flick. Nothing deep or mind-bending about it. I want my two dollars!
Images, authenticity, acceptance, indulgence and happiness. My favorite part was when Naomi Watts flipped out: "These clothes.....are the TRUTH." And it was pretty much the best thing I've ever seen Jude Law in: he reminded of so many schmoozy, loud-mouthed jackasses I work with, who have nothing to offer but the same smartass jokes and corny, dumb stories.
I saw a theater show with John Malkovich last night and attended a dinner party with him. Very cool guy.
Requiem for a Dream is the only movie to ever make me feel like my soul had been raped. Mulholland Drive also f***ed my head a little. But Aranovsky is king of mindf*** movies. Old Boy was great but the explanation at the end kinda killed it for me. Old Boy was also made as part of a trilogy the other 2 are not as good. Look for a movie called "The Isle" by Kim Ki Duk. It's also 1 of those movies that will make you feel like you need to sterilize your soul. As well as "Ichi the Killer" by Takeshi Miike Donnie Darko was good and had an excellent soundtrack but not on Lynch or Aranovsky's level.
Because I didn't play basketball with John Malkovich? I do have a picture of the back of a 7/10 girl, though .
