This is a joke. What is with all of these homer polls? We won't be in the top seven.

I say third. LAL and BOS easily at the top, but there isn't really another team, besides maybe the Hornets/Suns, that will get more than the Rockets.

I read somewhere (but I can't remember where) that Matt Winick, NBA VP of Ops, is behind schedule (up to a week) in creating the 2008-2009 NBA schedule because of the Seattle to OKC move and last minute free agency/trades which affect TV match ups.

Also an interesting tidbit...the max number of nationally televised games is 10 (Edit: The_YoYo is right...I forgot to include per network). LA Lakers had 11 last year because they added the Rocket's win streak game.

I am tired of being banned for calling people stupid but I think you should be able to call trolls idiots.

This is a Rockets board r****d. If you want to hear negative posts about the Rockets go to the Jazz board.

i think we'll be 2nd to the lakers (lakers always #1 even when they are mediocre right? sheesh).

they'll love to see a potential implosion with our team -> drama. the topics that can be discussed with this team is limitless

1 - Celtics (and rightly so. Theyre the Champs)
2 - Lakers (They won the West in what was the closest conference race in recent history. Plus they love them some Kobe)
3 - Cavs (LeBron is the NBA's posterboy)
4 - Rockets or Blazers (You may not think so, but theyre hyping Greg Oden like crazy already. Plus Portlands got an exciting young team and will be the top spot for the 2nd half of a double header on TNT since theyre on the West coast and theyre games start later)

    Just my opinion.

Thank you. But to think we will be in the top three of national tv appearances because we never have is a little ridiculous.

If there were more choices other than 1, 2, or 3. I wouldn't have made a comment.

Or in the other poll where 59 wins was the LOWEST choice. That's also ridiculous.

I am a huge Rockets fan. I love me some Artest. I think we will be good. I am not unrealistic, though. Expecting 65 wins or to be #1 on national tv appearances is unrealistic. I come to this board for INTELLIGENT Rockets talk. It's the only place you can get it.

Thank you for your input though. Your opinions mean a lot to me.

the max number of national games is not 10 its somewhere around 30 i think you can have a max of 10-13 per station (abc/espn, tnt, nba tv)

but teams with the max: lakers (they have the max or near max every season and now they are the WC champs, no brainer)
celtics (champs in one of the biggest markets, no brainer)
    cavs --its lebron, lebron lebron
heat--yeah the heat wade is another young guy the league is trying to push along with beasley now they'll get their fair share.

actually the rockets will be 5th imo or tied with the heat. we may get screwed like last year where the majority of our national tv games were on nba tv and espn and not on ABC (the only true 'national' game imo since the others are all cable station) or TNT (the best broadcaster) I think we had like 2-3 games on tnt last year and maybe only one on ABC (the game vs the lakers)

thank god for NBA league pass now if they'll broadcast the HD feed for any game that has one I would be happy.

I dont think the Rockets will get much publicity at all. They hate us. The only time they put us in the news or anything is when they try to relate bad information.

I still plan on watching most games on My20.

We had two games on ABC I believe, and I think way more than three on TNT.

nah they put us on TV a lot when tmac first came (like 3rd most that yr). we have just underachieved and we have too many nice guys. nothing wrong with that logic.

artest will add that bit of "bad guys" that everybody loves to watch so i'm sure we'll be on tv more.

i mean, why do you think the lakers are on a lot? kobe is a guy people love to hate (cocky, rape trial, selfish??)
cowboys with TO? patriots with bellichick? let's be real. our team is TOO nice.

4th or lower. Never underestimate the power of disrespect from the national media towards the Rockets.
