They are 100% effective at getting McCain attention. It is clear that when Obama says something or announces a new policy, he makes a lot of sense (for the most part depending on political/economic/moral beliefs) and catches everyone's attention. Whether you believe he will actually do those things or not, is going to be the determining factor of who you vote for. Democrats, with the exception of staunch Hilary supporters, fall in line with what he is promoting. Die-hard Republicans consider him an inexperienced phony. Regardless of where you fall in the political spectrum, Obama can flat out catch your eye. When McCain says something, you really wanna flip (something he's good at) the channel. Running this negative campaign is the only way to win. Fortunately, Obama has already defeated (pending official nomination at the DNC) a negative campaign. The bottom line is that Obama is pro-active... he comes out with fresh ideas and a fresh perspective in Washington. McCain is reactive, never coming up with new things to say other than "Obama says this... but he is wrong... Obama is inexperienced... Obama anti-surge... Obama anti-troops... Obama is Moses." I know you aren't dumb T_J. If the ends justifies the means for getting a republican in the oval office, you will support this. I guarantee you the donors of the McCain would rather hear about what he's going to do to fix OUR problems, both here and overseas... something that Obama constantly addresses, whether you agree with his proposed policies or question his character. Hell, maybe you might pull over some Hilary supporters with these ads. But you will lose them when the RNC sounds a little something like this wall of text: "9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11"
Obama isn't leading in the polls because of his proposals. He's ahead because he's younger, more charismatic, more celebrity, and he's "not Bush". If you think it's really because of anything he's proposing, you vastly overestimate the average voter. So saying McCain should just talk policy is dumb. He can do that until he's blue in the face and it won't make a difference. Americans always vote for the guy who they'd most like to have a beer with. That fact right there is not fair for McCain. It's also why him trying to minimize that advantage of Obama's is more than fair.
I don't think this one got the point across any better than the last, but at least it was humorous. Barack = Jesus has humor potential. Barack = Britney, not so much.
yeah, with high gas prices, stock market falling, banks failing, etc., the avg voter is concerned about who they'd like to have a beer with. um no, that worked in 2000 because the country was in the midst of a boom, there was no war, etc., in 04 people really stupidly believed george bush was the best man on terrorism, and now people want a change of direction, obama is right place right time for his message. that may be frivolous, but it ain't about having a beer with him.
That has to be one of the worst ads ive ever seen. Who has he hired to create these adds? You can hire a middle school video and journalism team to come up with better stuff than that. If the man is so incompetent to run a simple add where there is no pressure, no deadline, and ample time to review, then how can one believe that he can handle himself as president?
wow, reps and mccain have taken off the gloves and gone crazy simple question is mccain the guy you want to meet with china and india when negotiating environmental policies? the guy you want to interact with world leaders? the guy you want to handle our economy? If this is any indication he will fail Miserably because of his negative nature and his dividing tendencies. If his campaign serves as an indication than mccain truly is bushes 3rd term cause these is the same type of bs Bush pulled
Apparently you need to take a ride on McCain's double talk express: <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/ioy90nF2anI&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/ioy90nF2anI&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/GEtZlR3zp4c&border=0&rel=0"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/GEtZlR3zp4c&border=0&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object> This doesn't include the flip flop on taxes, on running a positive campaign, on the Iraq withdrawal timetable, and affirmative action. John McCain might be the greatest flopper that ever existed. Maybe that's why he's afraid to attack Obama on his flip flops, because he knows he'll get hit really hard back.
Those videos have some quotes that were out of context, but a lot of that is very damning to the McCain campaign indeed. I think one thing to note about these is that they are actually about real issues and not just accusing Obama for being popular with our allies over seas.
