I love cargo shorts. I hope they stay around forever, but all good things must come to an end. I hope not in this case.

I'm not sure if they give you fashion points but they sure are useful. Also its fun when you find money after doing the laundry like I just did.
If by "young kids" you mean tall boys then I would say sure- cargo shorts would be a great place to store these fellas.
I actually think they are here to stay. They have been around for it seems like 15 years. Normally, a fad only last 2-3 years, and then is seen unfashionable. If cargo shorts have lasted this long, I'm sure it will be ok for the next 10 years or so. It's certainly not a fad, like say Crocs shoes. But like a 100 years from now, when somoene is looking at pictures of people in cargo shorts they might think it is kinda weird. Sort of how we look at pictures of people from the 1800's and try to figure out why they aren't smiling.
IMO there are legit cool cargo shorts and then there are cargo shorts that should be put on jort status Cargo shorts should be kind of wrinkled, soft, and long. Do not iron and wear stiff cargo shorts Rememeber the knee length rule! Jort-esque cargo shorts:
F - I don't care how well they go with your braided belt... Oh, and there's no way cargoes go the way of Zoobas. They may wax and wain in popularity, but they will never be an anachronism.
Most of the girls would grade them an A+ and that is all that matters. I don't care about impressing you metrosexuals checking out other dudes wardrobe.
Is that sarcasm or have you really never seen it? If you've seen the movie Superbad something immediately comes to mind every time you see a pair of cargo shorts.
