They showing all acess of all the games ..... I saw Joey Dorsey and MAN HE HAS Super athleticism and versatility ...... he can be a great back up for yao man !!!!!!!!!
I wasn't very impressed by his post defense in the SL. He let smaller guys back him down on multiple occasions.
He's 6'6 and change w/out shoes. Probably shorter than T-Mac but he does have good length and a double wide frame. I think it will take a couple of seasons before he can be a competent backup C. He will have to learn quite a bit to make up for his lack of true size at that position. I see him more suited to contribute spot minutes at PF next season.
Extreme hops? He doesn't even have Kevin Love hops. http://www.draftexpress.com/nba-pre-draft-measurements/
LOL if u check out the wing span and standing reach of Dorsey vs Landry. Landry really has gator arms.
Dorsey has a lot to learn. His strength and quickness served him well at Memphis. But to be successful in the NBA, he must learn techniques and study film. Otherwise, he will never be more than a scrub player who commits a lot of fouls. He needs to follow the Chuck Hayes path and maximize his limited abilities.
ok, i havent lookd at his actual vertical numbers, but ive seen the guy block shots like crazy and windmill on fast breaks, his hops arent sick i guess but his wingspan plus the 33 inch vertical make him taller than he is...
If i was Dorsey Chuck Hayes would be come my new best friend. I would practice the he does watch the film he watches and train the way he trains.
I'm pretty excited to see Dorsey in a Rockets uniform. Anybody who saw him play at Memphis knows that he stood out on a good team. Especially his fast-break defense. He got a lot of blocks by catching up to guys.
I went back and watched the final four game against UCLA. I thought Dorsey was very athletic and very strong with amazing mobility and speed. I was a little concerned with his mental game however, as I felt like he often times got caught out of position defensively, whether it was defending a pick and roll or boxing out after a missed shot. He was able to recover well (by out jumping the opponents or pushing them out of the way) but these kinds of lapses will have to be fixed at the pro level. Offensively he was really not impressive at all and even more complicated put backs and layups were a challenge. We'll see if he's able to improve these aspects of his game but certainly I can see why we took him.
