Hinrich a 3? I don't think so. Derrick Rose will play the 1, Ben Gordan(I know he is not yet signed) the 2, Deng the 3.

    Keep Battier.

He is one of the premier defenders in the league. When you have Artest and Battier hasseling the opposition's star player i.e. Kobe, LBJ, and D-Will, there is no way a single player can drop more than 20pts on us in a game.

I know that many people are tempted to trade Battier since we have Artest now, but when you think about it, we already have enough depth at the 1 and 2 spot. I have faith in SF3 and Brooks. They'll have a good season for us. Alston will not jack up crazy 3's or be responsible for scoring because Adelman will give him the role of "setup man". I'll be delighted if alston can average 6-8 pts and 8-9 assists a game. Thats all he needs to do :D

I am keeping Artest and Battier....2 of the fierce defenders in the league. Plus, I think we need Battier 3 point shooting touches....he's a better shooter and much more dangerous than Artest from outside.

Okay, so far this is what I got. I came up with 3 teams we could trade with to get a better PG.

    1. Trade Shane to Phoenix for either Leandro Barbosa or Steve Nash (which more than likely would not happen)

    2. Trade Shane for Mike Bibby.

    3. Trade Shane for Raymond Felton

More than likely the Suns won't give up Steve but he would fit great in Adelman's system. Leandro is a much better player than Raf and the Suns are going with a defensive approach now that Steve Kerr is around. Mike Bibby is obvious because he flourished in Rick's system while in Sac Town, the Hawks are looking to get multipule players to fill their roster. And last but not least Charlotte, just because Ray is a young up and coming PG that will distribute the ball. I know we will have to throw in some fillers with the first 2 deals but we have Novak, Head, and SF3 to give up and then some. The good thing about Bibby and Nash is that their contracts expire in 2010 so that will help in the Lebron, Wade, Bosh sweepstakes. Another tiny one would be to trade for Crittenton or Lowry for maybe Luther and Novak, Memphis needs more shooters on their team. If these aren't available I woulldn't go for them. That's just me. ;)

i think everyone is forgetting how good this team was during the 12 winning streak with Yao. i like our team and with the addition of artest now, i really think we're unstoppable. this team only sucked during times of injured superstars. Yes, we COULD use a upgrade in PG but its not necessary. Raefer isn't THAT bad and i'd consider him a 2nd tier pg (considering he pass more)

KEEP BATTIER FTW! i think a lot of people underrate him just cause he's more of a defensive player than offensive.

This is my lineup for next year it might seem lik a bad idea to some people but i think it could give alot of teams alot of problems

    Pg: T-Mac
    Sg: Shane Battier
    Sf: Ron Artest
    Pf: Luis Scola
    C: Yao Ming

im not really sure about battier in the starting maybe brent barry but im not sure

uhhhhhh no do not trade Battier... unless we are doing battier for billups straight up... or battier for ai and josh smith... i mean we finally have a legit back up for mcgrady and y'all want to trade him? Either Battier or Ron will come off the bench and imagining one of those two coming off the bench is just SCARY! Mcgrady can now just score the lights out of opposing teams which is what he does best. If needs be he can play D but he can now concentrate on getting Ron the ball and battier the ball and just spreading it out so he can do damage when it counts which is the end of games and playoffs. The best teams are capable of resting their star players so they can perform when it counts the most. We have that capability now... I say keep the batman.

Being able to rest Artest, Battier, and Tmac during the season is going to do wonders during the playoffs.

For example, let's say kobe is killing Battier, next up in the past was no one or Tmac. If Tmac checked Kobe, no offense from him the 4th Qtr. Boom Artest gives Shane a break and Tmac keeps giving them the business.

I love the defense with Artest at 2, 3, or 4. I like Arest playing the smaller/quicker 4 players. There are 3 legit PF's in the west that would give Artest trouble - Duncan (slowing down), Amare, and Lamarcus Aldridge (he's good). I think Artest can check Boozer.

SA always manages to give its best players reduced minutes leading up to the playoffs and it's always worked very well for them. It'd be nice to be able to do the same.

yea, i wouldnt be willing to give up Battier for any of the aforementioned (except maybe Nash - and that aint gonna happen). Bibby, Felton, Barbosa.... all decent players, but not enough of an upgrade to giveaway Battier. Raf is decent... but i believe we need a significant upgrade if we're gonna giveup Battier. Hinrich is really the 'worst' i would go for Battier - and that's only because still being young, Hinrich MAY tap his POTENTIAL and be that significant upgrade. It's a gamble, but with Artest we could through the dice. Although I'd still rather keep Battier and get Hinrich (10.0) for a combo plate of any of the following: Landry (s&t...4.0?), Rafer (4.9), Head (1.9), Hayes (1.7), SF (2.6), Novak (0.8), Leunen, Harris (.7), draft picks, mle, etc... Landy/Raf/Head + both next years 2nd rd picks+ cash....

    Leaving us:
    PG Hinrich/Brooks - solid
    SG Tmac/Barry -solid
    SF Battier/Artest - solid
    PF Scola/Artest/Dorsey -solid
    C Yao/Deke?/Dorsey -solid
plus we retain a little depth with whatever else we're gettin with Artest and whatever Chicago chooses to leave on the table.

    Raf 4.9/hayes 1.7/Head 1.9/SF 2.6/No

Going into the off season, I thought the Rockets had three pressing needs, and they've only addressed one of them. Now that they have their third star, they still need a upgrade at the point and a younger backup center.
