while stats are important, they aren't always guarantees for success. I mean look at his article of the Top 15 centers in the league. Yao's 12th on the list when Marcus Camby is 2nd. His whole wins produced system as a determinant for a player's success on a team is jacked up.
In respect to Wins Produced, you have to take into account the players he was playing with in Sacremento. As a team they really did not produce much Wins. Also, you have to taken into account the players he is going to replace (the players that are going to lose playing time because of Artest). The argument within him not suitable playing as a 4 because of his lack or rebounding. He IS a 3 after all, just playing 4 to defend against the greater scoring threats. And he is a legit rebounder. He is like Landry (offense) and Hayes (defense) combined if you're talking about stats.
I took care of him. Most fundamental point: guy ought to be comparing Artest's numbers to Bobby Jackson's. Comparing him to other PF's shows us nothing about what this trade does for the Rockets. Compare him to Bobby Jackson: I think the team just got a lot better.
first off, he has landry behind chuck hayes on the depth chart. he thinks that luther head will get more minutes than brent barry. at one point he had mike james on our depth chart. he also thinks that somehow adding one of the leagues best shooters (barry), and one of the leagues best (arguably the best) defenders (artest) to a 55 win team -- that has no major subtractions will not improve the team? the bottom line is, he doesn't have a clue what he's talking about. I'm all for statistical analysis (I find morey to be a genius), however this kid has gone overboard. he's an idiot.
