Why so negative? A lot of people make mistakes. Kobe raped a girl. T-Mac cheated on his wife. If you're going to mention all the mistakes he's made as a human being, why not highlight some positives?

Lol...That story is awesome. He was buying so much stuff at Circuit City that he considered getting a job there to get an employee discount.

I can't believe people are acutally critical of Artest. Vernon Maxwell led the Rockets to a championship. He was always there defending his teammates too. I guess people don't mind seeing Yao and T-Mac knocked to the ground and seeing nobody other than Rafer Alston's scrawny ass come to their defense. Teams will think twice now that the Tru Warier is here or they'll be dealt with.

The entire hood has Ron's back

He's been through a lot, but he's always stayed true and been loyal to the streets that have made him into the person and player he is today. He's not trying to be somthing he's not. He's not trying to be hollywood like some other players. He's too hood to be hollywood! That's why he didn't wanna go to LA and that's why he wanted to come to the ghetto known as H-Town.

I haven't been this excited about the Rockets and their chances to do well in the playoffs in a long time.

For some reason there was a picture of him with PETA as the original post. Which leads me to believe the thread is about more than Ron's impact on the court.

Not being negative, just pointing out facts. While I don't believe Kobe raped a girl, he clearly cheated on his wife. I'm not down with that, either, but this thread isn't about Kobe. Tons of people in the world have done all sorts of positive things in their life - a whole lot of them without having done so many negative things, too. I'm just pointing out facts.

Somebody always has to temper tinman's enthusiasm. Everyone knows Vernon Maxwell is a Rocket's hero (well, okay, not everyone...but real fans), but that doesn't make him a great human being... sometimes tinman's threads go overboard on the glorification of players.

I hope Ron is a Tru Warier on the court. I hope he is the same off the court, if it is a good thing...??

Some people also forgot how Ron-Ron broke MJ's ribs, and MJ still called Ron his favorite Bull.

If Tru Warier is standing in line at Frenchy's near U of H or he's at Timmy Chan's or shopping at Fiesta, then he'll move up to the Top 10 Rockets of all time!

    What number should Ron wear?

someone start a thread. it won't let me.

i think yao should switch from 11 to his china number 13.

let Ron wear 11 in tribute to vernon maxwell.

This makes my signature. pure poetry!

Also this is true. When Max was here, he was a millionaire and he still was hanging in the hood. Going to Luby's, Whataburger, going to parties in the 5th Ward.

Tru Warier seems like that type of guy too. He'll make the Htown hood proud of the Rockets again.

    well,
it could be point of view. Maxwell did turn the whole team around in Phoenix Game 3, which started the air of confidence that we could win it all.

also in game 7, if I remember correctly, the last 7 points were scored by Maxwell to pull away from the Knicks. Plus the famous 3 pointer to seal it!

technically it was a team effort, but we had the NBA Finals MVP, NBA MVP, and Defensive player of the YEAR on our team. and it so happened to be the same guy ;)

There's some irony in this thread that people just don't know or see.

Ron Artest is going to be good on this team.
