What did P-sqaured ever do before he got KG and Ray Ray.

Hopefully Ronnie can do the same in taking Yao and Mac all the way.

Geez you are basically making the argument why paul pierce is better than tmac. If pierce can win 3 playoff series in his career with the only other notable player on his team being an overated, one-dimensional, low field goal percentage shooting, no defense playing, chucker, and tmac can't even win one series with the best center in the league in yao ming, that really doesn't say much for him.

You absolutely CANNOT compare the supporting cast pierce has had the previous few years, outside of this year to what tmac has had to work with. Delonte west? LMAO. I personally believe tmac is a slightly better player than pierce overall because of his court vision, but just looking at their resumes, pierce has done more with less. Even last year, he may have had allen and garnett, but allen and garnett, are some of the most overrated stars in the league, allen is clearly past his prime, and even back then he couldn't defense. And garnett always shrinks in the clutch.

Yeah I know T-mac still played good that season I was just saying. Trust me he was still scoring at will even though he said he wasn't trying.

Umm you must did not see T-macs supporting cast in Orlando. The Point Guards that T-mac had while in Orlando makes Delonte West look pretty good. Darrell Armstrong was the best PG he ever had in Orlando. Solid off the bench but not someone I would want starting.

dude, look at what you are saying here.... Antoine ****** walker ??? he got all the way to the ECF with antoine ****** walker as the best player he ever played with. that says a lot in my book.

al jefferson and delonte west in their 1st and 2nd year ??? someone should be able to win with that ??? please tell me this post is a joke....

talk about how kobe and lebron are better, blah blah... but the fact is both of them were sent home by finals MVP paul pierce.

Swap PP with Lebron on the terrible Cavs and see if they even make the playoffs.

    Pierce is nothing.

The best player in the world would be able to get a 3 pointer off in less than 18 seconds.

    1. Catch ball
    2. Find grooves
    3. Stick butt out
    4. Slowly lift ball
    5. If ball goes in adjust headband
5a. If ball doesn't go in give ref the "Come on, Man" face and adjust headband.

I see people attack Pierce for being conceited. But then what a fool of a reporter to ask such a stupid question?! How the hell can you interview someone and ask if the opponent he just faced and defeated last month is the best player in the league? That's just stupid questioning. No respect for the person he's interviewing at all. That's like saying, "well son, your Finals MVP and the championship ring really didn't mean much." This is like asking the girl you're dating if she thinks that popular girl at work looks better than her. Pierce's respond should have been like, "well, your wife thought I was better."

Kobe is obviously the better player.

nothing wrong with having confidence..and if i was in his situation i would believe i was the best too. why not tell yourself that? i think he prob should have just kept it to himself. its sort of like when someone starts guaranteeing wins, just silly to do.

Melo in my opinion is lower than 3rd tier, and PP is def. 2nd tier. He is better than Deron Williams.

I wouldn't say he's nothing, he's a great player.. but how soon we forget where PP and the Celts were before the arrival of KG and RA? Now if you put Lebron with the pre-KG/RA Celts they might have a SLIGHT chance of making the playoffs

couldn't agree more. People often over look that run in the playoffs with Antoine Walker of all people and I have no idea why.

Oh hush. Y'all are acting like Antoine is Kwame Brown. Antoine actually had a good season in 01-02 when they got to the ECF. Plus y'all are underrating that Celtics squad that got there. They had a decent team that played well with Pierce and Walker.

I dont know why people are saying PP beat KB.

The Celtics beat the Lakers. Neither one of those teams would have been in the finals without a supporting cast. So you can't say PP sent KB home, or LJ home. When PP didnt have KG and RA, they did nothing. When Kobe didnt have Gasol, they did nothing.

Therefore, to look at best player in the league, you look at ENTIRE careers, not a single season. Being the best is cumulative.

So, if you look at the careers of players in the NBA now and ask yourself the best player in the league question, who pops into your head?
