In the upcoming draft if we had ,say the 7th pick, 16 pick, and early to mid 2nd rounder, who would you pick? You can give up to 2 choices per pick. Here are mine: 7- Chris Wilcox or Chris Marcus. I like Wilcox for several reasons such as his constant activity around the basket forcing opponents to change or alter their shots, his put backs on the offensive end as well as his rebounds. Also the fact that he would be a Maryland Terrapin ,which might give Stevie a little less motivation to leave. I'm sure Steve has seen him play on a few occasions and has probably even hung out with him. With Chris Marcus, the guy is exactly what we need. He does come from a less physical conference, but does have some good offensive moves, is a good rebounder, and is a 7 foot 1 Non-Euro center (tring to mix a guy like Ming or Papadopoulous would not be the best chemistry on the court). He would finally give us some real frontcourt help. The starting front line of him and MoT (who both have wide shoulders and soft touches) with two long defensive backups in Cato and Eddie would make us pretty tough. IMHO, I would take C. Marcus over Wilcox, but not by much. This link is what sold me.click here 16- Vincent Yarbrough or Matt Barnes. Vincent ,at 6-7, would provide us with some depth at the 3 (injury) spot without having to sacrifice the level of play. He is very strong and athletic with good floor vision, tough D, and able to hit the 3 with some consistancy. He's mentally and physically tough and posesses the skills to contribute immediately. Also, he's a 4 year senior at a good program and would provide us with someone, other than T-Mo, to guard the opposing team's star. I honestly believe he could be the answer at the 3 spot in the future. Barnes' game is somewhat similar to V.Y. I would take him in his absense. Barnes is actually a better shooter, but has had some negative publicity on his character. ( I thought about C. Jacobson at this spot, but we already have two good pure shooters in Walt and Rice on the team) Secound Round- My point guard goes here. Far and foremost, I would hope Kirk Hinrich would slip to this spot. If he didn't, I would try to trade for him, maybe K-9 and Mooch or future picks or something. He is by far my favorite PG. He's a good passer and an excellent shooter from the arc. I love his game. If there was no way of getting him, then maybe Juan Dixon, Terp thing, or Dan Dickau would fill in nicely. I really don't think Moochie can play the point with any level of success. He had a great opportunity with Franchise missing the 20 games and we all saw what happened.
Okay, I'll play. #7. Jared Jeffries, SF, Indiana: active for a big guy #16. Carlos Boozer, C-PF, Duke: sleeper/tweener #21. Dan Gadzuric, C, UCLA: nice offense and hustle I deviated from your all-around selection pattern because I don't see where we have a need for another PG-- unless we get rid of Moochie. He has a new huge contract. How would we move him? He didn't show very much this year. Rudy seems to like Tierre Brown. So I went big after going for the 3. I didn't see Ely or Borchardt lasting until the 16th pick, so I went with Boozer.
trade the 1st 2 picks to move up in the draft and select Dunleavy..Although I am not as crazy about him as other boarders are, there is no doubt that he has a great upside..In addition, we will only be binded to one rookie contract.
now i know why the rockets suck... every fan in houston is a moron, every caller in radio shows is a moron,so... by public pressure carol will pick what you idiots want, and when they suck nextyear.. ill bash the hell out of all your handles saying "remeber your post when you wanted dunleavy and marcus" dunleavy=bullard marcus=kevin duckworth rice=odom jared=alan henderson amare=hakeem which of these three suck like the rockets? actaully since the town is not really a great attraction, and since we have one of the worse coaches in L,dunleavy does belong here, your right guys.a sucky player for a sucky team, perfect match.
Oh yeah, the GM of a professional sports team is going to bow to what a few fans want...right. Maybe you are the moron here? Ever step back and take a look at that? Not a good way to endear yourself to a board, don't you think? Sheesh.
get Darius Rice, I don't believe I need to bash you because I've noticed you've already gotten that from alot of different threads. But...... You should really do some research on the players you hype. First, D. Rice isn't coming out until next year. Second, Just because players dominate in high school doesn't necessarly mean it's gonna happen in the NBA. Look at Curry and K. Brown. Also, when you start calling people moron just because you don't agree with them, you open yourself up to personal attacks. So, I looked in your history just to see what kind of person you were- sorry- are, and well, where do I start. You brag about NOT having a job. You mention that you don't pay taxes, but you don't have a job to begin with, so no sh... Then you boast that your wife supports you, like thats REALLY COOL. You make HER pay the bills!!! Then, you mention your intrests are adult movies, WRESTLING, and TALKING to your wife!!! Dude, do you and your wife live with your parents, or are you some welfare b.tch???? Get off the library's computer, jump back on your huffy ten speed, and get back to your fat, mute wife who's cooking you your usual spam samich for dinner. I think you Are the biggest LOSER I've ever come across on this board!! <<<CONGRADULATIONS>>>
None of my business, but I'm a gossip. That's a little harsh. If you're going to do a personal attack, stay on target. Besides that, good call. Back to business, I like Gooden, but would need to see if he can play SF(more likely) or C. Boozer would be okay for 16 considering for someone big that will be able to play in the NBA for a while is a bargain here.
Joe, I like Gooden, but I think he might have a hard time playing the 3 in the NBA, maybe. Anyhow, there are several good 3's coming out this year. Thats why I choose to pick the best 5 first. Considering last years draft with E. Curry and Diop going so early, I think us getting Marcus, a four year senior whose team has the secound longest winning streak in college and a considerably better player than the two mentioned before, at 7-9 would be a steal.
