Haven't posted in awhile, but I had to join in and say WOW. Go Morey. This is going to be a fantastic season, and we pulled it all off without getting any worse if it doesn't work out.

In a way this is kind of a role of the dice but I am hoping for the best in that Artest will fit the Rockets' mold well.

Has anyone considered that Artest offered to play for free that one season if the Kings retained Adelman as coach? They must get on well.

    Kudos to Morey!

Morey, a Hunsicker in training, no doubt. Heck; he might even have completed his training, huh?

Your sentiment was my very first thought, right after "Holy _hit, what a move!" I think it's pretty apparent that our coach played a role in firming the pursuit in Morey's mind.

Tickets will be harder to come by, dad gum it. Yes, I know that 's a good thing for the organization, but it's a tad tough for a father of five.

From an on-court standpoint, I can't see how this deal doesn't make the Rockets a true title contender. You now have that 3rd scorer/one of the NBA's premier defenders. They now have the ability, should they get there, to shut down both Paul Pierce and Ray Allen in the finals.

Off-court...well...it's just wait and see. Artest liked playing with Adleman. Hopefully that's enough to keep him in check.

Is he an idiot if we give Artest an extension for multiple years and we have to suspend him like Indiana. no, I think. Artest has a history of abuse that I am sure the Rockets gave careful consideration before making the deal, and Artest will have to perform to their standard, or lose the $$ he wants in the end anyway.

To me it is a no lose trade at this point in time, and Hillboy can have his opinion.

    Go Rox!

Hillboy if you are a Rockets Fan, you will get over this slight upset to your thinking.
Ron Artest is just the right thing that this team needs, he will be the Maxwell and Ellie rolled into one. I expect under the influence of Yao and Tracy as well as Coach 'A' he will be influenced into becoming a well loved ROCKETand I hope that you will continue along with us to give ARTEST a chance to be the Rocket's player that we all hope him to be.
With him the team will be a much stronger team and very much more effective as we will now have three self-starters on the team. Each will have to be guarded . Yao Ming should have a much more stressless game and will now be able to blossom into the MVP player that we all have been waiting for.

    Alston/Francis/Brooks
    Tmac/Barry/Head
    Artest/Battier/Novak
    Scola/Hayes/Dorsey/Landry
    Yao/Deke

that's your 15-man roster for this coming season, but as Clutch has mentioned during 1560 morning show, if we don't use our MLE to resign Landry, we probably can go for a PG like Jannero Pargo, and then we will have all the shooters around Yao and Tracy.... I smell we will be in top 10 in offense (last year we were 22nd), and top 3 in defense.

I love this trade no matter how much I might have liked Bobby Jackson, but it just leaves 1 question to mind: Where does this leave Shane Battier? He sorta becomes expendable now....

IMO, he'll probably stay with the Rockets, unless we get a offer that Morey can't refuse. He's insurance if Artest flames out, and an insurance if Landry leaves; we get to play Artest at the 3/4 and Battier at the 2/3.

For the above, Francis may be out since we now have Barry to play the 1. Also Francis may just not have it in him.

Also for the above, Harris may be in given Francis is out or Dorsey to NBDL.

I don't know if I am the only one who understands your feeling. I felt the same way when we got Scottie Pippen. I could never cheer for that guy. I almost wanted to quit watching the Rockets because he was on the team. Luckily, he didn't stick for very long. That saved my fanhood.

But... Artest is not Pippen. Pippen is evil. He is a despicable human being with extremely low character. Artest, on the other hand, is just crazy. It's a huge difference between a psycho and a jerk. I'd cheer a psycho over a jerk every day.

I never liked the idea of getting Artest. I thought, still think, he could blow up a whole season on you just on a whim. But we got him for a can of peanut butter. That's CHEAP. I think it is worth the gamble. And if anyone could control his insanity, it think it would be Adelman. So let's hope it's for the better.

Besides, for being able to pull off this trade, I have tremendous confidence in Morey now. Even if Artest does go haywire, I believe Morey is capable of shipping Artest's behind off to somewhere and get some value back, probably more than a can of peanut butter.

A point that people who do not like the trade are completely missing.

We got a BIGGER expiring contract to use if necessary.

I like having the talent, but I won't lie, part of me will be sad to cheer for Artest. He has done a lot of bad things and seems to be a pretty disgusting person. Beating up two girlfriends, neglecting animals, wanting to take time off from a season to make a cd, etc.

I hope he plays great and keeps his head on.

    List of Psychos:

Henry Lee Lucas, John Wayne Gacy, Mike Tyson, Andrea Yates, Columbine/VT shooters, Dennis Rodman, and Mariah Carey.

    List of Jerks:

TO, Donald Trump, Howard Stern, Don Imus, 95% of politicians, Puffy, 75% of sports writers, Sean Salisbury, Vince McMahon, and Bill O'Reilly.

Originally, I was gonna rebuke your post, but once you think about it, it is probably more tolerable to be around psychos as long as they don't lose it (or snap) while they are around them. I figure a number of psychos are alright at party or bar or something with heavily armed security on hand.

On the other hand, the jerks make you want brutally murder them.

But the worst of all is when they are both...totally something that shifts the cosmos.

    Easy....i see what you mean.
