How can the Chinese expect anything from their team? I don't even expect the guards to be able to dribble the ball up the court.

Agree completely. This is an absolute joke. And the post entry passes are also a joke. The China players have no concept of post reentry either. Bogut is doing a heck of a job but the only reason Yao isn't crushing Australia is because his teammates and the scheme is suck.

The coach they currently have is supposed to be one of the best Lithuanian coaches ever. Their solution is to import some US guards like Russia & Germany :D

Yes, they were annoying, but they did have a single good moment.

One mentions "Hack-A-Shaq" and asks of an equivalent for Yao. The reply he got was "Mug-A-Ming" :D

From an Australian perspective Bogut seems to be playing like a man on a mission. :D

Our starter PG hurt, and the other guards are terrible!
It's not coach's problem.Just because the guards can not bring the ball to the front court safely and play our normal tactics.

Yao should not even waste his energy on China's poor excuse of a team.

The guards are downright horrible, turn overs after turn overs and bone headed plays after the other. This team imho will probably end up 2nd last in the olympics perhaps if they are lucky right after Angola.

Yi Jianlian will not be in the NBA after 2010, this kid has no enthusiasm, a quitter and no heart. But on the plus side it was nice to see Yao abuse Bogut!

One problem that I've noticed out of the Chinese guards from watching the team the past couple of years is that the younger ones have no concept of patience on offense.

Too many times, Yao'd post up, spot the double coming, pass out, and see a semi-contested 3 go up and clank.

The coach really needs to stress the importance of holding it and giving it back to Yao once the double goes away.

Actually, the only remotely good one, Liu Wei, who snatched a 18/6/5 yesterday, happened to be hurt.

wow yi does not look good.

this is the kid who's the next KG/Dirk?

and yeah, considering how Yao is their main weapon they dont seem too concerned about reestablishing him in the paint or even getting a decent entry pass to him before trying 3s

The Cavs own the draft rights to the starting Aussie PG. The backup plays in the NCAA for St Marys Gaels and could be drafted next year.

Liu Wei played a game in the Aussie league a few years ago and he looked out of his depth then.

No way will China basketball team win the gold medal, but no one can gurantee that they will not be able to break to the top 8.They are the hosts ,you know, you may not have come up with this idea with considering the matter of the judges.Besides, every rockets fan should wish China basketball team the silver medal,at least for yao's sake.

I think it is a good win for Australia, beating China in their home country is a good experience for the Aussies, its a pitty though that most of the teams in Australias pool is probably better than Australia.
