He acquired an all-star caliber player without touching anybody in the team's core. And the first rounders he gave up were late first round picks. Let time speak? He turned V-Span into Scola, a 2nd round pick into Landry, shipped off Bonzi's lazy rump in return for a useful role player, and eventually turned that into Ron Artest, got Glen Dorsey for essentially nothing, repeatedly screwed over the Spurs like a bad kama sutra movie ... if anything, time has already spoken for his actions. Even the bad moves he has made (Mike James), he has managed to turn them around into great opportunities. I think it's fair to say that Daryl Morey has more than exceeded the expectations of everyone at this point. Fans hesitate to question his moves now just because they actually realize how much smarter he is than they are, and you rarely, if ever see that elsewhere. You just know that if you complain, you'll be eating your words sooner or later.
I, ROCKET RIVER, HEREBY Officially apologize to Mr. Morey for anything I have said about him or his GM Skillz I humbly ask your forgiveness and bow to your superior Statistics and knowledge Rocket River will still question you from time to time. but you OFFICIALLY HAVE A MAJOR AMOUNT OF BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT!
Man remember that Morey thread where there was that huge debate about if Morey was really that great or was he just ok? I think this trade settles it. You can't say Morey isn't the best GM in the league right now. No one is this lucky, between aquiring Scola and Landry last season. To grabbing Greene, Barry and then Artest. And the funny thing was I remember in that thread I defended him saying "what else can he do? its not like he can pull a superstar out of his ass". Turns out I was wrong about that.
