Let also look at it this way guys. IF Artest decides at season's end to not re-sign, we have salary cap space, to sign someone like a Donte Green. So when you think about it, we don't lose much at all. SO we get Ron, have a run at the play-offs, if Artest stays, great. If he leaves we have that cap space to sign someone to come off the bench and score, as Battier has shown in the past he is a decent starter.

Battier can't be a 4 because his post up game is very weak. JVG tried that and realized his mistake,he doesn't rebound well either. He will probably be the sixth man,even if Artest is better coming off the bench and getting starter minutes. Ron can/will get slighted easily.

Greene is the perfect pet project for a team in rebuilding mode. Artest is perfect for a contending team missing a piece or two. This trade makes sense for both sides. The Kings also get another 1st rd pick next year as well as a virtually replacement expiring contract in Jackson.
I see where you are coming from, but the Rox needed a 3rd scorer..immediately..The window with T-Mac and Yao is steadily closing and Greene needs seasoning, of course only time will tell how good he gets. But we have been desperately looking for that 3rd scorer and boy did we land one...
So I'm driving home from work listening to Calvin Murphy talk about the rox needing rasheed wallace to bring toughness to the table and his sidekick says what about Ron Artest and he was like yes, that's good but was all about rasheed.
