Another plus with this trade is being able to do it in the off-season. They can gel as a team from day one like the Celtics did last year. With Battier, they still have versatility in case Ron goes off the reservation, need to make a move, or even in game to game matchups. I love the trade and I'm thrilled to keep Battier.

right now i would say keep battier, but if you guys can tell me what PGs we can get for him then maybe i will change my mind, but right now i think rafer can do the job and i would love to be able to sub in a player like battier for artest.

Battier and his intangibles doesn't have GMs salivating like pure moolah. We could get more for expiring contracts like Novak, Francis, and Head.

Keep Shane. We lose nothing when one them gets a rest, and to think when there both in the game. Were first in the L in opponets PPG this year, bet that.

Numbers are going to go down for Battier or Landry with less playing time. I think they should make a future looking move in before Dec if involving Battier or a move in Dec if involving Landry.

Dont ever think a Rafer starting team will do anything.

please trade him for the sake of Yao-TMAC's last chance.

Wow, please bring Iverson to the Rockets. The potential upside is ridiculous and would happily trade away Battier, Rafer Alston and Francis to get him. We definitely cant be do worse than a playoff berth and a 1st round exit with this line up. I would definitely roll the dice given the incredible talent and the fact that our window is 2 years for the Yao and McGrady duo to work.

Battier and Artest are too redundant. No question I do the Iverson trade and I hope the rumors are true.

You have to keep Battier for a few reasons:
    1) No guarantee that we keep Artest beyond one season
    2) I don't want to trade a great locker room/team influence for a head case. Artest is great on the floor, but Battier was essential to the chemistry of the team last year.
    3) Battier will be an incredible 6th man. He is our Ginobli! T-Mac, Artest, and Battier will all be able to switch out getting T-Mac more rest and hopefully helping his durability for the season.

Well, the problem is Rafer's weakness is his shooting and he had to shoot to be able to give the Rockets some scoring. Now with Artest, you can say goodbye to Rafer clanking up some bricks and let him do what he does best; distribute and handling the ball.

PGs aren't important if the Rockets have passers. Imagine last year's record improved, and last season's playoffs improved by a Yao and an Artest + a Healthy Rafer.

McGrady himself is a passer, and has a passing mentality in him as well. And as far as we know, he is probably the best passing wing in NBA. With him and Artest? He could simply throw the ball to artest in a position where artest can muscle his way into the paint. Not to mention Yao's presence.

I also want to see the 2 top defensive players on our team. Imagine a double team of Battier and Artest. That is just bullying.
