billups is not the same player he used to be.... can't you all see that ?

t-mac is way better than billups right now and why would we want prince when we have artest AND battier ??

pistons will not give up rip hamilton.

I agree with your analysis...plus, Artest played in Sacramento. Adelman coached in Sacramento. That familiarity has gotta count for something

Unless the circumstances have changed, maybe it has something to do with Ron Artest representing himself as his agent. Ron Artest himself personally giving the OK has got to help in the confidence of completing the trade.

Anyway, It's hard not to like the trade. I was against him coming here because of the risk coupled with the suggested trade packages. But it's hard to find anything wrong with this transaction. Morey has really impressed me. In a matter of two seasons, he has rejuvenated the talent on our team. WOW.

I don't think Scola is the other player, it doesn't work out cash wise.

    Bobby Jackson $6,987,888
    Ron Artest $7,400,000
    The difference is 412,112
Novak and Greene are the only two that make money close to what the difference is, (Novak $797,581, Greene $971,160)
So odds are one of those two are the ones to go in this trade.

I love Daryl Morey. This moves us to No 1 in the power rankings. huge implications for the regular and post season.

Tmac and yao don't have to log heavy minutes for us to win nightly.

Artest is a true 3rd scorer when all three are on the floor.

We gain defense, scoring, toughness, rebounding.

I want Artest locked up for a multi year deal. A core of Yao/Tmac and Artest has a 4 year championship window. I want Tmac and yao extended to run 4 years with Artest.

This is has the potential to be the greatest rockets team assembled (I said potential). If yao and tmac are healthy and Artest remains sane -- which he will because he's on a winner, will get paid, and likes the coach -- we will own the league.

I'm already having visions of a lineup consisting of:

    Alston/Tmac/Artest/Scola/yao

    with the ability to go

    Alston/Tmac/Battier/Artest/Yao

    or to go small with

    Alston/Tmac/Battier/Artest/Scola

There is no weakness on this team.

If we keep battier, would we keep him as a 4 in the starting lineup with artest as a 3 or would he be our sixth man off the bench and scola starts?

WTF @ ESPN, how stupid is that comment? The fact that we got Artest without giving up Battier means we have to defensive players that will harrass other teams main players. More fresh bodies thrown at players like Kobe now. Battier coming off the bench makes our bench that much better.

Stein on ESPN News now. He says he has exchanged emails with Artest this offseason and he always mentioned how he loved playing for Adelman. He says Artest should be excited to come here for Rick, and that Adelman should be able to reach him as he did in the past.

Artest didn't opt out because he knew teams wouldn't give him more than the MLE. He knows he has to have a full, solid season to get the kind of money he wants.

Dude, I'm watching the Astros game and blogging online when I see some guy write something about us getting Artest.

I think what a load of BS this guy is and then I find out it's true.

This is nuts. I'm somewhat speechless.

    LMAO, it sure is!

What's up with everybody busting one and getting rock hard over this deal. I'm sorry but that's not my reaction for an exciting event in sports. I would like to see Battier dealt because Artest makes him obsolete but i wouldn't get rid of him for nothing. Basically with Tmac, Artest, Yao, and Scolandry the only hole is at PG. I wouldn't trade Battier unless you can get a good sharp shooter at PG.

I think it's already been said that Scola is not one of the other players. Confirmed basically.
