seriously tho. does anyone have any news on francis? i hope he comes back strong. houston will definitely make it out of the first round if he does. he and yao took it to the shaq/kobe lakers and i think we couldve beatn them if
we had a little more experience. if francis is back then we might be able to give boston a run.

I'm not sure if Steve Francis has the athleticism, speed, stamina or the skill level to make a successful comeback, but if he can get to 70% of his old self it will make a difference in the playoffs IMO. Tracy McGrady is more talented and has a better IQ but he lacks courage down the stretch in a clutch situation unlike Francis. I'm not saying that a healthy SF3 will make us a Champion but we need all the help that we can get.

Haha, very pathetic list, Al jefferson, Tim Duncan, Emeka Okafor and even Marcus Camby are all power forwards.

As for Shaq, his was 27% jump to 22% dunk and this was last year's shaq after all the injuries and old age. Also, compare his 73% inside shooting to Yaos.

And for those claiming Yao is a finese player, i do not argue on that, it seems any soft player is automatically labelled a finese player. Kobe is a finese player, Olajuwon was a finese player. Finese in the fact that they have mastered the game to the point that they can easily step back and take a jump shot in your face or drive to the basket when they need to.

Take away's Yao's jump shot and you have nothing. Even if steve francis comes back and is not 100%, at least you know he has the heart to drive to the basket HARD when the game is on the line, and not take clanging jump shots ala Tmac and Yao.

Take away Shaq's inside shooting/dunking and he is nothing.

Man, I really admire your logic!

Sure, Shaq in his prime is much better than Yao. But your logic is just so funny.

Take away D Howard's leaping ability, he is nothing. Take away MJ's leaping ability and he is probably a nobody as well. Take away John Stockton's passing ability and he is also probably nothing.

Francis needs to get his ARSE in shape, because this is OUR year baby !!!

Artest is here with Tmac and Yao...Francis has a chance to be another major cog.

Steve...rehabilitate like mad...this is YOUR chance at a ring.

True, since Artest's trade is in our pocket, Steve will need to exercise very very hard!

    Our lineup will be like:

    PG: SF3/or Alston
    SG: TMac/SF3 or L.Head
    SF: Artest/ Battier
    PF Scolar/Chuck Hayes
    C: Yao/Motombo

If he needed ANY motivation, he should have it now...and in plenty of time to get in tip top shape.

A healthy jumping Francis would be AWESOME on this team.

It's amazing to think what kind of team this would be if Stevie returned back in-shape and motivated.

    Francis/Rafer/Brooks
    TMac/Barry/Head
    Artest/Battier/Novak or Harris
    Scola/Landry/Chuck
    Yao/Dorsey/Deke, if he returns
