In addition the media folks will spend half the time following up on the "gotcha" of the day or week, whatever that will be. Still we might have some fireworks if McCain keeps calling Obama a traitor who would rather play basketball than visit the troops or Obama keeps trying to pin down MCCain on his various negative votes for Veterans' benefits. Would Obama dare to question whether being a POW 30 plus years ago should be one's main qualification for president?
That's disappointing. I think 10 is silly, since you'll also have the normal debates, but to propose just 1 on a holiday is crappy at the other extreme.
hum... Eveything I've heard is that Obama suggested two town halls on top of the three debates. That would be 5 total and the most in modern presidential history.
True - but the 3 debates are pretty much a given. And while it's the most in history, we also have the longest campaign in history. Normally, people aren't paying much attention right now. I'd have much preferred a few town halls during the summer than all the junk nonsense we're getting. But yeah, 10 is ridiculous. That was McCain wanting free media coverage like Hillary was towards the end with her wanting to do to a debate every week. I think one per month is more than reasonable, though. Or even just one or two - but not on the 4th of July when no one is watching TV.
