7 footer that can play a little has great demand.

Diop gets 6 millions. Brown gets 4 millions as a backup center is not expensive at all.

This trash can guard Yao, Landry can't guard almost anyone decent in the post.

I was really hoping a team in the West would sign him so Yao could continue embarrassing him four times a year instead of only twice now.

Being the worst mistake Michael Jordan has made in the NBA is bad enough. We still get to still see Big Ben embarrass him, good enough for me. :D

You know what the funny thing is? Kwame Brown's standing reach is only an inch or so longer than Joey Dorsey's, and yet people keep on crying Joey Dorsey is severe;u undersized.

The best thing about Kwame is that he's nearly 7 feet tall (and the 2nd best being that he is apparently atheletic enough to run and chew gum at the same time, which many near 7-footers can't do).

Basically, Kwame got a lot of mileage out of the fact that his face is placed 4-5 inches higher than Dorsey's-- even though the hands he presumably use to catch rebounds and play defense only reach an inch higher than Dorsey's.

I still don't understand how a guy like Kwame can stick around in the League in '08. I mean the guy is a real letdown, he's soft and don't care 'bout basketball

Well, both him and Darko have this allure as highly-drafted lottery picks. By faulty logic, executives assume that they must have potential that's yet to be tapped. After all, how could any GM be so dumb as to draft someone bad in the first overall, right? Right? Right?!!! Must be because Kwame's actually good and no one's just tapped him yet...but maybe Detroit's the one!!!!!

I think they understand he doesn't really have potential. The thing is there are VERY few big men as athletic as those 2 and as big. People will take their chances until their old enough to have peaked physically. Maybe Darko and Kwame should train together. Kwame's D with Darko's offense would be a pretty decent player.

7 ft tall, 265lb and can run the floor as well as almost any big in the league. That will earn you a long career in any basketball league.

I'm sure he knows he's a letdown, but he's gonna make that money. If Deke doesn't resign I would take him.

What good is running the floor if you can't catch a pass? And what good is being 7 ft tall if you can't make a layup?

He isn't that bad. Certainly when one looks at his size and athleticism and considers what he was supposed to be he definitely comes up short but it isn't like he does not belong in the NBA. He is better than the big men many teams have coming off their bench.

Your description of Kwame actually fits perfectly for Mutombo.
