Good signing for the Clippers. Davis is not old, despite his experience. He won't be called upon to be the cornerstone of the franchise, and gives them a proven offensive option. If their big guys can stay healthy, they'll have a competitive team.
No disrespect to Ricky, but he is the number 1 player in the league I would least want on an NBA team. A mildly talented player but the just makes awful decisions in most every aspect of the game. I view Ricky Davis as a living desperation signing. Good luck in the lottery next year Clippers.
No one, that's why it's a desperation signing. He's like the last man picked on a playground basketball game. Nobody really WANTS to sign Ricky Davis, but you gotta do it to save face and give your fanbase false hope. Signing Ricky Davis confirms the Clippers will be in the lottery next year.
the clipps are doing a good job of finding talent. kaman-jordan camby-thornton r.davis-thomas mobley-gordon b.davis-hart they won't be the doormat everyone thought they'd be when brand left. i mean, they still won't be a playoff team, but they won't suck.
Exactly. The guy may a bit of a headcase but hes a proven scorer. He'll be a great option off the bench for instant offense.
First of all, I don't hate the guy, but many do because of his history. Prior to last season, Ricky Davis was one of the most selfish jerks in the NBA. Last season under Riles, while not his best statistically, proved he can be a mature NBA player if his coach demands that from him. Leaving Riles to play for Dunleavy might bring out the worst again. Dunleavy can do that to players sometimes.
id take him over luther head any day. . atleast we got barry so maybe thats the last we see of head.. that guy just pure sucks.. and has a low bball IQ
Can't recall him ever being on a truly successful team. And certainly can't recall him contributing on a good team. Some guys just bring bad luck (see Marbury, Stephon) So glad we didn't get him.
Didnt lots our BBS members want the Rockets to sign him? Anyways, I think its a great signing for the Clippers. Now the new worst team in the West will be the Sonics, and Sonics alone. Wonder what the deal and money was? Doubt he got more than the MLE, probably 4-5 Million. great signing for the clippers
his stats are nothing to scoff at: Carrying career averages of 14.3 points, 3.7 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 31.1 minutes, Davis tallied 13.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 3.4 assists in 82 games played for the Miami Heat during the 2007-08 season. The 6-foot-7-inch Iowa product also connected on 420-971 FG (.433), 135-333 3FG (.405), and 155-197 FT (.787) on the year.
