I don't think that western conference power is us. Lakers could offer Lamar Odom's contract. Sacramento could offer Artest and another player. Unless there there is a third team involved, I just don't think we have anything to offer outside of McGrady and Yao to compete with those kind of offers. It would be nice to be wrong though.

Neither my sales representative nor my service representative had to work today. I am not arguing the point that some might have been called in but I think we would have known something now because rarely do big things happen on Saturday nights/Sundays.

Maybe they are preparing for Monday but as of now nothing is burning hot on the stove.

    bibby, claxton, law, (salim/FA)
    johnson, evans, (west/FA)
    williams, (richardson/FA), (luke jackson/SL)
    (PF)
    horford, pachulia, jones

i can imagine atlanta doing a deal where they take back 25% less salary.
maybe something like mem:darko+crittenton, or sea:chris wilcox+jeff green, or dal:josh howard.

Didn't happen. No one had to work overtime this weekend.
Sorry for bursting your bubble but got verification of not happening from 3 different people inside organization.

still the "two weeks" or "couple of weeks" timeframe that was given is running out.

we should see a trade by the end of this week.

same situation last year. teams know the rockets need to cut a player/s. so they might be asking for more like head+2nd round pick for te instead of novak for te+pick?

Knicks just did a roster cutting move?

    http://blogs.nypost.com/sports/knicks/archives/2008/07/knicks_trade_ba.html

    Jones (non-guaranteed) + Green (non-guaranteed) + 2nd round pick FOR Balkman + cash.

hooroo's post is a good one. Everyone knows the Rockets want to trade and are expected to have a full roster, that's why they want to get as much as possible from them in exchange. Novak will be traded only if someone wants him, otherwise management will have to cut him.

was there a trade last year where the rockets had to shell out in order to rid themselves of a player?

hey just wondering how come the "Minor" trade Morey said about 15 days ago that he was going to do in 2 weeks is still nowhere in sight?

Btw Denver and Knicks just did a "Minor" trade that I'd have liked the Rockets to be doing: Details below:

The Knicks have sent Renaldo Balkman and cash to Denver for Taurean Green, Bobby Jones and a 2010 second rounder.

It's because Balkman has more trading value than Novak and possibly even Head.

Yes,but Denver was interested in Balkman. We can't be sure what Novak's value is yet.

If there hasn't yet been the 'minor' deal might a more 'major' one be in the works?

Yes, as we all are aware of. The trade is currently brewing in the Trade Mill, and with each day closer to the trade deadline fermentation is being added to it, and the BOOM! BANG! product will be unveiled in February.

Would love it if we could get Michael Redd, or at least, if no stars can be acquired, Mike Miller, who would would be awesome in Houston.

no, that was just a hypothetical. they did try to trade excess players but ended up just cutting a few players.
