...just out of curiosity, I wonder how those European admirers would feel about Obama if they knew about his close confidants' racist rants and raves....

    Just curious...

Obama was more than willing to speak in front of the crowds to capture that picture, but he cancelled his trip to visit our brave troops in Germany.

That should tell you all you need to know

That's essentially what we've had the last 8 years... government run by people who think they're still on the Jr. High playground where bluster and bullying and schoolyard chants and pubescent fantasies about what it means to be a man are substituted for thoughtful policies.

And by the way, looking at this series of photos, German teenagers sure don't age well. They mostly look to be in their thirties or forties and a significant number have either gray hair or bald heads. I guess it's the Brat.

Only dimwit Americans, who are stuck the past will try to push this on Obama and make this a issue. I'm sure Europe knows better then that...Hopefully you will finally get on board with the rest of the world...It's 2008 not 1948.

Obama's speech to hundreds of thousands of one of our key allies did more to boost troop moral than any pop in hand shake could ever accomplish.

It's a big world and Obama sees the big picture.

About 75 years ago, another politician drew that many and more screaming German teenagers in virtually the same place. I am naturally skeptical of screaming people who can't be wrong.

Really? Did you ask them how they felt?

If not, I don't believe that you are qualified to make that statement and are just talking out of your a$$.

You must of course be thinking of Kennedy and it was only about 45 years ago.

By using the German popularity metric, I determine that the President of the United States should be...

Hitler had quite a following in that neck of the woods, too.

Did JFK and Reagan have rock concerts there to lure additional people, similar to Obama?

What a fraud his entire campaign has been. Just a totally produced image management campaign. I can't believe that his supporters are so willing to suspend their critical thinking skills and stand behind this figurehead of candidate.

The rumor that the Decemberists would be playing after his speech was suspicious -- were they even in Germany this month?

The Decemberists are known for their 200k crowds! It's a virtual Woodstock everywhere they play.
