Oswalt worked out Friday afternoon in Milwaukee prior to the Astros game with the Brewers. "I threw a light bullpen," Oswalt said in an interview with FOX 26 Sports "Then we threw about 30 pitchers to some of my hitters."
Considering the way his season's gone, I fully expect him to tweak it again and miss a few more starts.
unfortunately I kind of wish it was a trade wish. But I don't any faith that he would be traded in a wise manner so I am glad its not. They would probably him for a couple of 35 year old power hitters and journeyman catcher
I thought it was and at this point I wouldn't mind if the did...for prospects. But I wouldn't want him saying that he's ready to leave Houston.
Actually, his numbers were even worse when the Astros were winning games and in contention (April and May, 5.87 and 5.18 ERA respectively). His best month by far was June (2.97 ERA), when the team was free falling to last place. There's definitely no correlation between how he pitches and whether the team is a contender.
funny when i read the thread title the only thing i thought of was him coming back from injury... wishful thinking on some of you guys parts?
You know, this thread title is a good way to sort out the optimists from the pessimists. When I saw it I immediately knew he was ready to pitch again, not leave.
...yeah... ...I never thought the FOX 26 story headline meant he wanted out!!!! ...I guess it's the old...half empty...half full scenario... ...late...
