And I'm sure he is willing to defend his players. (i.e JVG to Yao)

No ****ing ****, he's the perfect coach for this team. The team was probably crafted largely out of what he wanted. The team's still not going to go anywhere with those malingerers... but that's another story completely.

What else is obvious that we can point out for the sake of a thread?

I agree i believe tmac can really thrive on this style except he just has to play off the ball alot more and also we have alot of willing passers and no ballhogs, this year we will play even better than under the system and hope those naysayers STFU!!! :p

this team is still JVG's style: lack of talent, full of chokers, overrated stars and scrubs.

Perhaps the question is: What happens if we lose once again this season in the first round? Will they fire Adelman? I think the consequences of not getting past the first round this season would be a disaster. And with the West being even tougher, it could very well happen. For one thing, Yao would probably not resign with the Rox once his contract expires if we do not get past first round in '09. He would say, this team is just never going to make it past the first round. So the this season is not going to be just "It's time". It is going to be more like "Do or Die".

without being totally biased, i believe RA deserved coach of the year over byron scott because a 22 game win streak is a hell of a lot better than what byron scott brought to the hornets which the only thing that comes to mind is an improvement in the teams record compared to the past year.
and i completely agree on how beastly the rox will be next year. just think back on how we were struggling the first half of the season because we were trying to get used to adelmans system. now that we have a full year of his system under our belt, with a healthy team, the rockets will be definitely a top 3 in the west.

Except that Yao really can't sign with another team in 3 years, who knows how much change can happnen in 3 years.

You should think 2 seasons, not 3 years. One more season of failure and it is enough to have him start considering offers in his last season.

He'd better be...otherwise he will be fired. If he doesn't get to the second round I think les alexander will chop at or around shoulder level

Yao seems like the kinda guy who would stay loyal to the Rockets, despite higher offers. Most of his money goes to China anyway. I don't see him playing anywhere else in the league tbh. Even with a trade, I think the Chinese govt. would have to approve and I doubt that would happen.
