What an arrogant sorry piece of you know what! I guess all you Kobe lover's have all the excuses in the world for this guy! Fighting! Yeah I guess he's a real class act! Sorry guys but I don't think that's a real good example for our kids!
Dude, kobe had the ball in his hand with the shot clock running down, and shot it....what an a-hole! One time, I saw him with the ball WIDE OPEN running down the court with no one guarding him! You know what he did? HE SLAMMED THE BALL DOWN instead of just laying it up, or waiting for a teammate to come down and and hand it off to him! The AUDACITY!!! What a LOSER!! Remember that one time that half of the BBS stayed up all night praying for reasons to hate on Kobe?? Oh wait, that's EVERY night..... Kobe is hated for the same reason Jordan is despised by many. When you are GREAT, people try to rip you down as quickly as they built you up. Why? I don't know, i'll ask you that question.... PS whether they are treated as role models or not, I will NEVER use an athlete as a role model for my kids. Could they be great role models? Sure, but it isn't in their job description. Heaven forbid *I* become a role model to my kids. Would that be too much to ask, "smooth" cat?
Well, the fight I remember with Hakeem was instigated by McDyess. It's a little different scenario when you turn trash talking, a normal part of the game, into violence. After all his years in the NBA, you'd hope Kobe would be mature enough not to resort to (and instigate) violence twice in two weeks...
How are you so sure Kobe instigated it? He shot the ball so he wouldn't get a 24 shot clock violation, as stated in another thread. Obviously Reggie got mad and let Kobe know about it. They went at it, big deal. He's still one of the best players in the NBA, love em or not. I remember someone saying that Phil Jackson was yelling for Kobe to shoot so it wouldn't be a violation and the game would be over. You guys jump at any chance you get.. -LTF
I guess this thread isn't "arrogant" on your part? Or maybe you are the good example for our kids? This is perhaps the single worst post I've ever read here, and there have been some bad ones. How classy can you be by posting this garbage? It sounds like you're happy Kobe was in a fight. Get a life and some class, loser.
How are you so sure Kobe instigated it? He was the one to throw the first punch. It's on the replay. Miller may have instigated the whole argument, but that's not a big deal. Trash talking is a part of basketball. Swinging fists is not, and Kobe clearly instigated that portion of the dispute.
Does this mean that Kenyon Martin will be hated more than Kobe? After all, Martin gets into trouble all the time. I hope you Kobe bashers (after this run of "violence") are also Barkley bashers. I love Barkley, but I would hope you guys are objective and smart enough to realize that the guy you once cheered for *gasp* got into a lot more trouble than Kobe has. I personally don't care what Barkley did do or does do, I respect him as a player and I find him to be a pretty good person. I just hope you Kobe bashers don't show even more ignorance by telling me that Barkley is a model citizen, while Kobe is Bin Laden.
I don't condone Martin or Barkley's actions. Does that mean I'm not a Barkley fan? No. He's immature, just like Kobe. Chuck's immaturity is usually humorous though, and that's why I like listening to him. There's nothing too funny about walking up to someone and trying to punch them in the face. I can't speak for anyone else in that thread, but I don't care if it's Kobe Bryant or Steve Francis or Cuttino Mobley. There is no excuse for turning a verbal argument into a physical fight. That's just immature, and stupid. It has little to do with anyone "picking on Kobe".
you know, I really don't care what all of you think! As for the role model thing, I'll give you that much, your right an athlete should'nt be a role model. I'll remember that next time I see the NBA marketing to the youth of today. But as for Kobe, that's another thing,( Jordan I LIKED!) but I guess since Kobe's winning, means everyone has to like him? I never said he was'nt a good ball player! But that doesnt mean I have to like him! You know I kind of like to see all of you kiss his butt and defend him! I'll buy my time. Later
Phil instigated this he told Kobe to shoot the ball. But Reggie made a statement that this about other issues. Could it be that Kobe and his woman are fighting AGAIN
Then why did you even bother to post?... What makes you think we care what YOU think?.. why did you even bother to start this thread if you do not care what all of us think. If you don really care what everyone else think.. and want to speak your mind.. go to ESPN.com messageboard.. you will meet lotta people like you
so kobe got into a fight? there are a lot of players who get into fights, i don't aprove of fighting, but in some causes i can understand it. when shaq hit Miller i understood it. i don't know excactly (sorry my english is not very good i'm from holland) what happened, and neither did you all, or did you follow kobe and reggie all noght and listened to them al night? if you don't know what happened don't try to judge it isn't fare, and it is just plain stupid how you all try to get some negatif comments about kobe. what the h*ll did he do to you, besides be a great player? yopu can't get any negetive point about kobe's play so you just try to get complain about him on other subject. if you start a tread with every player getting into a fight you will be bussy. why didnt you name this tread "all the Reggie lover's"? i'm not some great kobe's fan, but i like how he plays, and i'm getting quit anoyed with all the comments about how arrogant he is and how immature. if you look at the nba players there are a lot of selfconfident players, and kobe is just one of them. so is cuttino, iverson, jordan, hakeem, steve, shaq,,marbury, garnett, and a lot of others. and there is nothing wrong with selfconfidence. now my view on rolemodels: i think no nba player should be a role model. or any athlete at all. and no celeberties. if you look for role models look at people you know. someone from your familie, or friends. almost nobody knows anything about celeberties, atleast not how they think, and how they act, when they ar without cameras (and i don't wanna know) and you need to know things like that to see someone as your rolemodel. tgis last piece was because i had a long day. and i have a strong urge to chance the world
True. But, factual statements like that are indicative of why I have soured on some athletes. If the fans don't care about the athletes, why should we care about them? The athletets need us more than we need them. We buy the tickets and the nba league pass.
