since there are so many threads about China. it doesn't hurt to have another one. :D

i guess Chinese people are satisfied with the direction they are heading to.

No suprise here. To me there's no doubt that China will take the place of the worlds economic superpower within our lifetimes. My issue is what kind of leadership we will expect from the PRC.

I'm definitely not optimistic about that part.

I am not too high on this, given the two factors below, besides the upcoming Olympics:

    1) the poll was conducted from March 28 to April 19 across China, where patriotism was running high in the aftermath of Tibet riot when Western media's fanatic romanticization with Tibetan terrorists/separatists and their Nazi-loving realpolitic god-king was fully exposed in the spotlight first time ever in China.

    2) the 3200+ interviewees were disproportionately in urban areas where standard of living, thus the satisfactions, was considerably higher than that in rural areas.

The article said part of the concern is inflation, rising price and environmental degradation. Aren't the first two the same thing?

Your reasoning is flawed. Even if the situation there was bad before, if it didn't improve, people would still be unhappy and the ranking would still be low. Or they could get impatient and more unhappy so it could even get lower. That said, are we even talking about the rise or fall of ranking here? So how did the up or down discussion come up anyway?

You mean you are discounting the auto-response from PRCbots, thanks for the admission.

because he phrased a question that would kick in an autoresponse - we are in agreement.

Since there was never room to elaborate on the poll questions, your assertion applies to autoreponses elicited from anywhere else in the world -- including you know who -- equally well.

Another auto bot response from SamFisher.

Are you really that ignorant? auto-response? Perhaps you didn't even bother to read the article before giving out your auto-response. If you have(can) read, only 48% of them voted positively in 2002. What kind of auto-response was it back then?

You'd better educate yourself before giving out your auto-bot-response next time so you won't humiliate yourself again.
