True, but Kenyon should have been dumped instead...Camby is (was) the defensive anchor in the middle for Denver for years and usually produced in the rebounds & blocks catagory. Kenyon just has occupied space ever since he signed his contract a few years back. I often wonder will he ever return back to defensive glory...The answer is NO... As far as the Nuggests go, with these recent moves you ahve to wonder how they can get better without making a major move on Carmello or Iverson to get a couple of starters in return.
Someone help me, I thought you had to trade within 10% of the salaries. Maybe it is because the Clippers were 12 mil under the salary cap and therefore the 10% rule doesn't apply? I think the league needs to tighen up its trade rules. Gasal trade (farce and completely changed balance of power in the league) Jason Kidd trade (Mavs send a retired player. WHAT? another farce) ...and now the Camby trade. All three trades are jokes. Either relax the rules or tighten them up. But trades are getting more and more silly. The GM's have figured out every trick in the book to get around the existing rules and it's kinda screwing things up. ...and what's up with allowing teams to "talk" on July 1 but can't be formalized for 2 weeks? Another joke. How many trades gets "announced" during that 2 week period? Just get rid of the 2 week rules. What's the point?
changing trade rules won't prevent the gasol trade from happening. the problem with the gasol trade was not that memphis dumped gasol from cap space, but rather most people felt that memphis could have gotten more within the rules. -- rules can never prevent stupidities like that. the 2 weeks "talking" period gives teams on the outside a fairer chance, and somewhat increases the risks of (and therefore discourages) wink-wink deals that everyone hates.
I really hate that rule which allows the Aaron McKie's and the Keith Van Horn's of the world to be included in a trade. It must be dropped immediately.
Can you blame him? Defensive POY last year and Denver's ONLY defender worth a damn shipped for essentially nothing? Granted, you could pay me $8M a year or whatever he makes to shut my mouth but from a logical standpoint this trade is a complete joke. I don't care about saving salary or creating a gigantic trade exception. Fireselling your assets is hardly ever a good idea.
...hey, as long as the points-per-possession or some other jargon says agrees with you that's all I care about
camby for luther head and chuck hayes? whatever it takes to get rid of head. plus we need backup to yao
