Don't you get it? It's only bad if the Japanese oppress or beat Chinese people, or celebrate generals who had done it.

It's quite ok for the Chinese to invade other nations, indiscriminately beat, arrest, oppress, outlaw, harrass, or kill anyone though. You see this is because all foreign type people bring bad things to china - like opium before, and other drugs today. Or religion, or disease, or are trouble makers. China has the right to eliminate these undesireables - after all, what's the big deal?

Shouldn't China be allowed to do whatever it wants or supports whoever it wants? Why should it care about other people's genocide or civil rights?

Vanity was hot plus this song from the soundtrack is still awesome!
R&B back in the day was real deal. it made you happy, it made you dance.

    <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/9Jb32yxokNM&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/9Jb32yxokNM&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

you can even bust this song out in china now and i bet they start dancing.

if they tried to kick DeBarge out of a chinese bar, they'd start playing this song and all the chinese people wouldn't be able to control their bodies and start dancing, even the police and army.

    DeBarge > Chinese police

I'm guessing the coaches wouldn't let any of their athletes go out unsupervised and getting drunk at some bar anyways.. at least not until the games are over. Hence Lerbon and crew don't have much to worry about.

One thing the article didn't cover. What about all those posers who think they're black and try to act gangsta? Will they be allowed in?

The olympics is about partying and having fun. If the story is true than China should never be allowed to host the olympics again.

Whoever believes this is dumber than a bag of hammers.

Does anyone seriously r****ded enough to believe that they will do it at the time of the Olympics when the whole world is watching?

"oh we are racist and let's show the whole world when we are under the spotlight". LMAO.

I wonder if anything can look more fake than this report.

This has gotta be fake/inaccurate/lost in translation. Like others have said, it's hard to believe that they would be that dumb to do this in front of the whole world with all eyes on them. If it is actually true, then they are really naive and have a lot to learn.

Get real, everyone's racist, but it could be that they haven't yet learned the subtle art of hiding their racism, like people do here in the good ol' US and A (Borat).

As a black person who lives in Shanghai and has lived year for 2 1/2 years here are my observations:-

    1. I hang out in foreigner clubs as do most foreigners here ;). Most of the drug dealers and users in these places are white, more specifically European (coke seems to be their drug of choice). There are black dealers and there are chinese dealers but the majority that i know of are white. It usually breaks down like this. For Weed, chinese and black dealers for coke, extacy, etc, white dealers.

    2. Most foreign prostitutes i've seen are white, to be more specific Russian (although these days there seems to be fewer than when i first arrived). Of course there are more chinese prostitutes than any other race however you can pretty much find any race you desire.

    3. The Chinese in general are nice friendly people but very ignorant. I have experienced some racism but nothing really bad or worse than what i have experienced in the US.

    4. The Article is correct in that the police usually don't bother foreigners of any race.

Although i live in Shanghai and not Beijing, the article does surprise me but I do believe it. However i don't think it was actually the government that inacted these policies but maybe some overzelous district chief who took the initiative in trying to impress his bosses, or is scared ****less of an incident occuring in his jurisdiction during the olympics. I would be very surprised if these orders actually came from the top.

yes, you are correct. but some people on this forum want to twist this into PRC is racist. people in China do not understand the race issue like people here do. they can be insensitive at times. but they don't mean it the bad way. ****, when i was a little kid, there were a lot black students in the unversity. i was like, wow, they are cool. :D there is no cultural/family teaching against any race. it's not a tradition like it is here for some people.

I find Asians in Asia to be pretty racist so I am not surprised they would do this.
